Taylor's Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Chester

This is my favorite ice cream spot in the area which sits at the tail end of the beautiful Chester center. The homemade ice cream is on point, they have over 50 flavors, including some non-dairy and vegan options as well as gelato, frozen yogurt and even Dole Whip. Their ice cream has those coveted (for me at least, a sign of true homemade ice cream) little ice crystals that add to the flavor of the ice cream.

I always go for a scoop of peach, blackberry and baily's and my sister always raves about the plain vanilla.

Some of the more seasoned staff really give wonderfully (freakishly) big scoops and I think that's because they feel comfortable putting more on a wafer cone, which is what I always get. I feel like you can really tell how long a person has been working there by the size of their scoops, lol.

The staff is always wonderful and polite, btw...they give you their full attention when ordering and will answer any questions you might have.

Wanted to do something a little different with the kids tonight so I looked up the best ice cream in NJ. Saw that this was #4/100 and only 30 minutes away so we jumped in the car.

Definitely did not disappoint! Ample parking (a big deal in the middle of Chester) was the first star. Great atmosphere and friendly staff (second star). Absolutely huge (if not a bit intimidating) selection was the third. Fourth and fifth were the actual ice cream itself! Incredible texture - smooth, creamy, no ice crystals, slightly melty so that it’s a little like gelato. The quality of the chocolate was fantastic.

A little pricey, but you’re paying for more than a dish of ice cream; you’re paying for an experience. We were able to sit and have a wonderful conversation with the kids while we ate without being rushed. I know that this last part is beyond the ability of the business to provide, but the atmosphere was just right for a great evening. Will definitely be back! 10/10...
