Tldr: prices are super reasonable for how delicious and fresh the food is. Will definitely be back!
Buckle up buttercup, time for a short story about a delicious eatery that's competing with the U-City scene. Firstly online ordering was an absolute breeze. Ended up doing a pretty decent size order so that the family could try a variety of their offerings on a piece meal basis. Tried the pork and shrimp, pork and Chinese veggie, chicken and mushroom, and beef boiled dumplings and wasn't disappointed by any. Beef were fastest to go in this household and their spice blend was fantastic. Chicken and shiitake and pork and shrimp were next. These aren't soup dumplings so would recommend ordering them pan fried. We ordered them simply boiled and because we ordered take out, and messed up our timing, they weren't nearly as good as I'm sure they'd have been at the shop. Also got to try some of the udon, noodles were the perfect chew and the spice on chicken was pretty good. Their tuna poke bowl was fresh, perfectly rationed to veg, sauce, rice and protein and the sauces were just the right amount of creamy to heat that was needed. Again if your ordering take out mind that the rice is hot and the tuna cold. Pork egg rolls were some of the best in the area and the crab rangoon, it's the Midwest right so gotta try them, were also delicious. The "crab" to cheese ratio was healthy and just a bit of sweetness.
Lastly, definitely recommend the boba, the sweetness choice option, ice level options and extras are some of the lowest priced in the area for the size you get and the milk tea and taro are both scrumptious.
We'll certainly be back many times but definitely in the shop as opposed to pick up for the items we ordered. Hopefully others feel the same way and this shop sticks around for a good long time because the...
Read moreI took my parents to this location hoping to have a tasty lunch and was surprised at the high prices and lack of quality. They spent 83$ here and left disappointed and full of regret.
The smaller, pink colored dumplings were super tasty and full of flavor. The Katsu/Salmon poke bowls we ordered were aight but standard considering the price. Pork bao was small and under seasoned but had a great flavor. This location doesn't have sides of sauce for you to purchase despite a range of yummy choices, so if you want sauce with your dumplings/bowls you'll have to stick to soy sauce which was majorly disappointing. The soy egg I ordered with my bowl was so overcooked it was difficult to bite into. The whites were hard and rubbery and the yoke was green and crumbly. Disappointing. I'm used to a medium boiled egg with sunny jammy yoke. It was a whole dollar and some change.
The 8$ tea's were awful. I ordered a thai milk tea and it tasted more like vanilla or butterscotch, didn't taste like thai tea whatsoever. Again disappointing. My moms brown sugar milk tea didn't taste like brown sugar or tea, it tasted like straight up milk with sugar and was so disappointing. We regularly get milk teas and I've NEVER had milk tea's so unrecognizable in flavor. They were creamy and sweet but the flavors were just weird, like "Milk Tea" powder, mixed with water which was beyond disappointing for the price.
For the prices, EVERYTHING should have been on point. The owner and staff were really friendly but I hope they fix their quality control and put sides of sauce up for purchase, for people who like extra saucy food or want to dip their dumplings in something other than soy sauce. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again, especially not for the prices :/ so many better places you could eat def better...
Read moreOverall pretty decent experience. Boba tea was good, no surprises there. Steamed Traditional Pork Buns were a bit different than I expected, still pretty good though. The Tonkatsu ramen was passable at best. I ended up adding extra egg (way too overpriced for only half of an egg) and extra pork belly. The noodles were a bit too firm for my preference, the soy egg was WAY too overdone and didn't seem marinated long enough. But it also wasn't the usual "ramen" egg. The broth had too strong of a nori flavor too it, not sure if it was just my bowl or batch though. I do want to point out that the pork belly was insanely good though. Probably the best pork belly I have had at a ramen joint, glad I got extra there. Also there was no chili oil or spicy seasoning on the tables for people to add to their noodles, would really like to see that.
Lastly the service was alright, few items came out kinda late/got confused but the staff was super attentive and the few times we had to ask about an item, it came out super fast. I get the feeling that everyone is still learning/getting used to the business so it was overall totally fine.
I would love to see this business succeed and I am for sure willing to give it another shot in the future but would like to see (or hear) that some improvements to the ramen and pricing (for...
