Good concept of course. Like a Tumble Drum. Kids had fun, and were very hungry and tired afterwards. Lots of things to play on. Socks are required. No shoes in the play area. The rocks/beans from the little kid pit were scattered everywhere. I honestly thought they were candy at first and was very grossed out by it. They are quite small, so be aware of this if you have little ones likely to try and eat them. There are changing tables in both restrooms which is great. There are cubbies for shoes, and tables and chairs for families to use. There were hand baskets at the front, but it wasn't clear how those were meant to be used.
Birthday parties have the option of a room, or a table in the main area. We went on a Saturday morning at it wasn't too busy until around 10/10:30. It looked like all the party rooms were reserved, but none of them had arrived yet, so I can only imagine how crowded it gets when there are multiple parties at peak busyness. I don't think that would be as fun.
I like that adults are welcome to play, as many smaller kids could get scared in the structure without someone guiding them. Of course not every adult could comfortably traverse the structure, though.
Most everything was in good condition except a purple slide that was chipped, the foam blocks were looking pretty rough, and the zip line was falling apart. The material connecting the sitting ball to the line was coming apart. Most importantly, the spring at the bottom of the zip line meant to absorb the impact was completely broken. Kids were hitting the bottom of the line so hard they would fly off. Multiple kids were getting hurt on it. For some reason there are coated chains hanging off the top by the handle, and those were hitting kids in the head as they crashed at the bottom. Ours got whacked in the forehead and another kid has his glasses knocked off. This wasn't happening with every kid, maybe if it was, an employee would have done something about it. At least 2 different families notified workers, but said they couldn't leave their post, and didn't do anything about it.
One climbing tower structure had been completely closed off, it makes me wonder what happened to make them close that.
They seem to be understaffed because there was not a single person walking around the play area. The website said they have monitors walking around, so I was surprised not to see anyone. I would think that would be a priority, but I guess not. Only the front entrance and the concession stand was manned.
It's clear that safety is not their first priority, so just be aware of that while you're there.
Broken spring from zip line and injury from unnecessary chains...
Read moreGo Play is a fun new place and I totally recommend for a weekday when it's not so busy. However.. I DON'T recommend having your kid's birthday party there on a weekend day. The payment/planning process was wonky, the party itself was disorganized, and the place was a busy MADNESS. Way too many people in there at once. I arrived 15 minutes before party time (which is very little time to prep a room) and they had multiple carts and a huge bubble machine being stored in there. The tablecloths (they provide) weren't on. No clear instruction on anything, unless I asked. The front desk was chaotic but I will say I was relieved to know they weren't strict with my party guests (as that would have really held up the line). They basically just let my guests through without questions. That ended up fine. Our party host started being more attentive as the party went on and refilled our pitchers a couple times. He offered to help with the cake serving later on too, which I appreciated. Regarding the amount of people in the place.. there are too many. Every party room & table was booked and they had many non-party guests still too. There are way too many adults lingering in the play area. Go Play needs to figure out a better plan on limiting the guests on weekends so it isn't so overwhelming. Lastly, this place was incredibly expensive compared to other party places I've used and what you get out of it. A minor adder is my daughter didn't get the goodie bag she was supposed to get (not needed but just something to mention). It wasn't a horrible experience overall but I unfortunately will not be recommending this place for weekend...
Read moreWe visited Go Play with high hopes for a fun day out with our daughter. Initially, the facility seemed promising with various play options. However, our experience quickly took a turn for the worse due to a concerning safety issue with the pebble pit.
During our visit, our daughter unfortunately got a pebble lodged in her ear. This alarming incident revealed a significant oversight in the playground's safety measures and emergency preparedness—there were no tools or protocols in place to address such an incident. The staff's attempt to assist only exacerbated the situation, pushing the pebble further into her ear. This necessitated an urgent visit to the emergency room, resulting in substantial distress for our daughter and leading to $850 in medical expenses for us.
Concerned for the safety of other children, I reached out to the management a few days later to voice our experience and suggest the removal of the pebble pit to prevent future incidents. As of March 29th, my feedback has seemingly been ignored, and the pebble pit remains.
While the concept of an indoor playground is wonderful for fostering fun and physical activity for children, the safety of these young patrons must be paramount. Our experience highlights a serious gap in Go Play's safety protocols and their responsiveness to feedback regarding child safety. I strongly urge parents to consider these factors when choosing a play facility and for Go Play's management to reevaluate their safety measures to ensure no other family undergoes a similar...
