I have exclusively bought only Valley Wok for the last 10 years. I moved twice and I still chose them! I've drove from Florissant for 5 years, and for the last 2 years I've drove up from House springs. I pass many Asian restaurants and various other food options to give my business to Valley Wok.
They don't skimp you on the vegetable/meat ratio and the flavor is my favorite. Obviously they do great if I've been a loyal customer.
I'm disappointed in them recently. I ordered 2 dinner plates, steamed dumplings, and an egg roll. We usually spend around 35 to 40 dollars. They forgot to put the sauce for the steamed dumpling in the bag so I had to go back. I did not get an apology or anything. He acted like I was bothering him. He handed me the sauce and walked off. I wasnt rude or anything. Just asked for sauce because it was not in the bag. The last 3 times I've been there they used 3 different types of chicken for their dish. It's not consistent. I order the same thing every time and it should be the same. Sometimes the flavor and portions are off too. Maybe it depends on who's working? But the type of chicken shouldnt regularly change.
Poor customer service enough times will lose a...
Read moreInteresting event this evening at this restaurant. I am from St. Louis, but no longer live here. So when I come, I always like to get Chinese food. Instead of going to North County I have been going Valley wok. This evening we chose to eat inside of valley wok and to talk with someone that we brought. I did not eat any of my food because I was not hungry, but I wanted to pack this on the plane and take it back with me. They serve the contents in a Styrofoam container. A Styrofoam container for traveling is not the best and it’s not the sturdiest. Upon leaving the store, I asked the gentleman behind the counter if I could have two to go containers for me to pack and a little bag for the crab Rangoon. The odd thing is he did not want to give me the box to pack the fried rice. I have been to the establishment on numerous occasions and based on him wanting to debate with me about a $.03-$.05 box, he has lost my business and I will go to the mini Chinese restaurants that are on Olive or either that are in North County. The person we brought was a first-time customer and with that she said she would never come...
Read moreThe wife and I stopped at Valley Wok hoping they had a vegan option for her and a “Springfield Style Cashew Chicken” for me. Well, they had both! And the food was amazing.
My wife ordered the “ vegetarian delight“ and I ordered the “Fried Cashew chicken.” My order was as close to the Springfield Style version as I have found in the St. Louis area.
They actually put oyster sauce in the “brown sauce” that so many other places serve.
Her vegetable delight dish “tasted very fresh,” and the sauce was outstanding!
The owners were there with her kids and all jumped in to help. They were very friendly. The restaurant itself isn’t fancy, but it’s clean. Even though it is not in the area where we live we’ll...
