My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here at the Westchester Restaurant and Bar. It was our first time dinning here for dinner and we are absolutely over the moon we found this hidden gem!! Chesterfield, MO is loaded with food options but nothing has ever compared to our experience here at the Westchester.
Food 12/10 Atmosphere 10/10 Service 11/10
We arrived about 15-20 minutes early to our selected reservation time and the host welcomed us to sit at the bar while our table finished up. Did not have to wait around outside or in our car which was a fantastic way to start the evening because, the bartender was outstanding. We mentioned that this was our first time dinning and she helped guide us through the drink menu as well as the dinner menu as we prescaned the options for dinner.
We settled on a bottle of red wine, a glass at the bar and the rest with our dinner. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the wine and did not photograph the bottle. But I can tell you that if you have a wine preference, they will point you in the direction and you will not be disappointed.
The host kept us updated on the status of our table. Not once did we felt the need to check the time waiting for the table. They were attentive to our reservation time.
We were then seated as soon as our table was ready and greeted by our waitress. Our waitress was equally incredible as the bartender and hostess.
(Photos attached) Our meal included: Appetizer: Prussian oyster. Appetizer: Steak tartar. Main course: Seafood stew. Main course: Chef’s cut ribeye. Dessert: Chocolate cake. Dessert: Creme brûlée with an assortment of macaroons.
Our thoughts on our meal: Prussian oyster, if you like raw oysters.. MUST MUST MUST MUST try if you have the chance. My husband has never been a fan of oysters even enjoyed these very much. Just absolutely delectable.
Steak tartar, although our ignorance with any tartar, this was great. The house-made waffle chips were a perfect pair. Honestly, if you aren’t a tartar lover, you have to at least order some waffle chips!!!
Seafood stew, I COULD EAT THIS EVERYDAY OF MY LIFE. Every-single-day. All the best tasting seafood swimming in a flavorous broth. My mouth is water thinking about it. It can be as light or as heavy as you want. Eat it with white rice or skip the rice and enjoy the seafood with broth. Just scrumptious.
Chef’s cut ribeye, if you are a steak lover.. this plate would be quintessential for your soul. No steak sauce needed, you won’t even think about it. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Just sheer perfection.
Chocolate cake, will satisfy anyone’s chocolate craving. Not just a sliver of cake. A portion that doesn’t make you wish ordered something else.
Creme brûlée with an assortment of macaroons, was my favorite dessert between the options we had. I love creme brûlée and this was best by far.
We left there exceptionally fulfilled and ready to book our next reservation! Everything was top notch. This place is a must try. Do not overlook this restaurant. Just don’t do it, you’ll be missing out on a terrific experience.
Huge love to all the staff and...

From the moment we stepped through the doors of The Westchester, it was clear we were in for something extraordinary. Chef Matt himself greeted us warmly at the entrance — a rare and personal touch that set the tone for the evening. That first-class welcome was just the beginning of what turned out to be an unforgettable night.
While waiting for our table, we made our way to the bar where the exceptionally talented bartender Bryan (more of a true craft cocktail artist) created top-notch drinks that were as beautiful as they were delicious. Each pour felt intentional, and the flavors were spot on — the perfect start to the evening.
Once seated, we were placed in the capable and caring hands of Brandi, who took care of us with a level of service that can only be described as superb. She was attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had a genuine warmth that made us feel like honored guests rather than just another table.
What really stood out was how Chef Matt didn’t just greet us once and disappear into the kitchen — he made it a point to check in throughout the evening to ensure everything was as expected. And it wasn’t just us — he did so throughout the restaurant. That level of personal attention is something you just don’t find everywhere.
From start to finish, the entire staff delivered a seamless, coordinated experience. This wasn’t just dinner and drinks — Chef Matt and his team transformed it into a full-fledged experience. The energy, the pacing, the personal touches — everything came together to make the night come alive in a way that’s rare to find.
In a city like St. Louis (or Chesterfield to be exact), where the restaurant scene is full of incredible options, The Westchester stands at the very top. Chef Matt and his team hold the title of absolute best in town — not just for their food, but for the way they make you feel while you’re there. If you’re looking for more than just a meal, and instead want a night you’ll truly remember, The Westchester...
Read moreWould love to give this place 5 stars, but the experience left us less than impressed. We visited on a Saturday night for a late dinner, since that they are open until 11pm. We knew it was always super busy, so it actually worked out nicely showing up at 9:10 and seeing more than half of the tables empty. We were greeted and seated at a table immediately and given drink menus and separate dinner menus. We weren't trying to waste time, so we picked our cocktails right away and looked over the dinner selections. However, despite having plenty of wait staff for only a half full dining room, it took about 10 mins for anyone to come to our table- which was a waitress who simply asked "can I get you some cocktails?" No introduction, no asking of what we wanted, nothing you'd usually expect from a server upon starting a meal. Our drinks took a few minutes, and the same waitress dropped them off and started walking away. My husband had to stop her and ask if we could order some food. She said she thought were only there for drinks. But we had dinner menus right in front of us, and oh yeah- she never bothered to ask if we'd be eating. The server brought our food in an expected amount of time, and returned twice after to ask about our meal and dessert. The lack of attention when it wasn't one bit busy was very mismatched with the price of this dinner. I will admit the food was quite delicious- my husband got a filet which was great cut of meat and perfectly seasoned and cooked. My salmon with cheesy polenta was also a nice plate. So, based on the food and cocktails- this place gets 5 stars. But based on the service- I had to give it 3 stars (over generous). I hope they do better if we return!
EDIT* WE HAVE SINCE RETURNED TO THE WESTCHESTER A HANDFUL OF TIMES- AND HAVE HAD GREAT SERVICE (SITTING AT THE BAR) AND DELICIOUS FOOD. THIS PLACE IS NOW OUR #1 GO-TO AND RECOMMENDED RESTAURANT...
