First of all the food is amazing...of course. However, today my family and I had an extra special visit because of our server Calvin. Last year we found out that my son is severely allergic to tree nuts. Since then we have learned to navigate the path of appropriate, safe items he can have. Today, we ordered him chicken tenders and fries. Harmless, but as Calvin came to refill our glasses I asked if he could double check about cross contamination, just in case. Really it was an after thought and my husband later told me he thought at the time my actions were unnecessary. Fast forward a few moments and a runner brings out my sons food. As he was a bit distracted by the TV his reaction was a little delayed, but just as he reached down and begin to bite into a fry, Calvin showed up and literally pulled it from his hand. He had immediately went and asked the chef who said yes, the oil they used to fry the fries and chicken tenders, was also used to fry their pistachios and walnuts. To reference the severity of this for our family...last year my son took a single bite of a cashew and spent 3 days in ICU on an epi drip. This was our first exposure to the world of allergies. During his allergy testing we found he is allergic to cashews...obviously...but...on the scale of severity, he is far more allergic to pistachios. Pistachios!!!! The very thing they fried in the same oil as my son's meal :( Needless to say Calvin is our hero right now! So many times I hear of families concerns being brushed aside and staff not following up. But Calvin went immediately to find out. I hope you read this, because thank you again!! Today was our learning experience...even when you think you have it down to what is safe and what is not...check again...just ask! If I hadn't we would have been at a hospital instead of enjoying our day together...
Read moreYesterday afternoon I and two friends visited EdgeWild to review the party rooms for a birthday party on Oct 7th. The rooms and the employees were great and we decided to stay and eat during happy hour. My pizza was so go, I brought another friend back this afternoon during happy hour for another pizza. I didn't realize that the happy hour pricing was just in the patio area, but when were informed of that we said we would gladly move. We were told that there wasn't any room in the patio area. I assumed that we would be offered happy hour (at 5pm) pricing in the general area since there were no tables in the patio area. We were told NO (not great service). So, I ordered a MEAT pizza at $16.50 (instead of $8.25) like last afternoon. Ten minutes later I was told that there no sausage for the sausage pizza. "Would that be OK?" I said for $16.50 that would not be OK and suggested (knowing that you serve hamburgers) that you could just substitute hamburger for sausage. I was told that it would take a hamburger patty to facilitate this and that it would only be possible if I paid for the pizza and a hamburger (not great service). When the pizza arrived, I was presented with the pizza and a different employee let know that it was how I ordered it WITHOUT sausage.
Monea' was a good server and the food was tasty. I assume the table servers were speaking the restaurant policies, so no fault there. I would have thought that charging an extra $8.25 for the pizza would have easily covered the cost of the hamburger patty.
I trust that management will make better decisions for the party.

Read moreReservations are a must. Other customers were curious as to why they couldn't be seated at empty tables. We went here on our 18th wedding anniversary. I would have liked to have been pampered a bit more. I am disabled atm, but the hostess didn't realize I guess and we had to climb stairs to get to our table. We had the queso dip with bread as an appetizer. They light the cheese on fire and it creates a pretty neat presentation. Unfortunately the bread was hard as rocks. Some was edible though so I expect we got an old and newer batch mixed. I had the 14oz strip which was excellent! Perfectly cooked and topped with very flavorful mushrooms. Now mushrooms aren't my thing they were tasty for my wife. She said they were a bit salty but good. She had the 8 oz which was also cooked perfect and delicious. Garlic potatoes were good as well as the hericot verts. Again, back off the salt just a little for your sodium-sensitive guests, please. We decided that since it was our anniversary we would spoiled ourselves with the Chocolate Dome. Desert was presented as a huge chocolate globe in a big Champaign glass with whipped cream, strawberries and a surprise inside when they drizzle the hot caramel on top. We came for an experience, not just a dinner and they delivered most of the way. It wasn't too awful busy but I don't know their staffing situation either. Previous visits would have the manager come talk to us at our table especially on a...
