An appreciated find in a small town! Started with some baked goods- A beautiful apple pastry (cheers to that filling! Not overcooked or oversweet) and the tastiest peanut butter cookie: The crumb was perfect on the cookie, with a deep flavor due to it being made with a starter. The sourdough chocolate chip was also rich and dark- very good but it made me realize how much I prefer milk chocolate in my CCCs. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte which was a touch ginger heavy, and they didn't have alternate milks which is always disappointing in place with such quality offerings. The breakfast sandwich I got (bacon, tomato and cheese) was perfect. Their shredded homemade mozzarella was different but much welcomed, and the lamination on the croissant made me so grateful to be eating something well made. Took two fresh loaves to go- they have a small variety (as well as baguettes and bagels) and will slice for you to order. There is also an abundance of unique house-made grab and go pantry/fridge items, as well as their daily menus that change per mealtime. Outdoors seating, charming team members and an open view of the crafting was enjoyable. One star shy due to the lack of now-normal alternate milks. Would 100% recommend to both friends and strangers in the area for the peanut butter cookies alone. All the best xx

VISITED Friday, January 26. Lunch I have been an infrequent patron of MSAK for a number of years now. To a class years ago on how to make sourdough bread and its history. I’ve bought nummies from here. But this was my first time ordering a meal. Like most of the reviews for MSAK, customer service is fantastic! The women took my order was very welcoming! And I agree, very energetic atmosphere. A symphony of employees doing their work harmoniously. ☺️ 💪 Now, as stated before, I have purchased a number of items from here and truly enjoyed all of it. However, I ordered the Roast Beef sandwich with chips and although the rb was good it had no flavor. If you’re gonna charge $15, gotta be worth it. The sandwich was bland. And the chips tasted like pork rinds. Not what I wanted to taste. They look appetizing and certainly held their crunch after I had to wait an hour and a half to eat due to a meeting but no bueno. May I suggest a rub, seasoning (s&p?) or an aioli to give some ping, flavor, pizzazz? I’m certainly going to return. Their granola, sourdough & sissa’s sd oatmeal honey bread. Soooo good!

I am so thankful my friend introduced me to this place. I have been here a few different times and always have good food no matter what I get. I have had a breakfast sandwich and its all you could wish for, also the donuts are an absolute favorite, and so is the pizza, as well as the pretzels, and barley ale bread, and biscuits and gravy, I have not had anything that i wouldn't purchase again. Just got done doing the 2 day sourdough class and am so excited to get back in to doing sourdough that doesn't taste sour😊. I would recommend anyone to stop in and try the foods at MSAK. You wont regret it! The best part about all these foods at MSAK is you can enjoy them without guilt 😊. I will also add the owners are supper friendly people to be around, definitely support this local business, I cant say enough good things about this place.

Event Catering: We conducted an event at Washington College (Chestertown, MD) and wanted to provide lunch for 50-60 people after The Game. We contacted Christina and Bill looking for a post-game lunch - both food and drinks for the team and their visiting families - and boy did they come through! We had sandwich platters of a few kinds, salads of a few kinds, chips of a few kinds, desserts (of a few... you get it) and drinks ALL delivered spot-on time and right to the campus! We asked if they would text us once on the way, met them exactly where needed, and got set up 'in the field' with ease. Could not have been more convenient! The food was very well prepared and so nicely presented. The whole crowd dove right in. Barely any leftovers because it was so popular! Also perfectly delivered for easy remote serving. If you don't know the backstory of Modern Stone Age Kitchen then familiarize yourself with it because it feels good (and IS good) to serve and eat REAL food from Bill and Christina's kitchen. Do not miss their food whether you visit their market or order it for your event. It is uniquely genuine. This is fresh, properly sourced and prepared food delivered to an event by a family run kitchen. We'll go back...
