The place is a tiny shop in a strip mall. Parking can be a mess. There are multiple ways in and cars come from all directions. Depending on where you're going, exiting the mall can take some time. One exit is too close to the traffic light so you can backed up. Once you get in, it's on to get some bagels. Not only is the place tiny but quite busy. They have the best bagels around and everyone knows it. Be prepared to stand outside a while. Once you enter, the ordering station is ahead. The menu hangs above the counter. You place your order and wait until you're called. They have all the breakfast sandwich offerings you would expect. I go with the sausage, egg, and cheese on a sesame bagel. I've also had a Taylor Ham, egg, and cheese as well. Both are super. We usually get a dozen bagels to go. They have poppy, sesame, pumpernickel, jalapeño, egg, cinnamon-raisin, everything and of course, plain. What ups the ante is the specials. Occasionally they offer up a special bagel. The wife is fond of their French toast bagel. It does have a great French toast taste. If its later in the day, you can get burgers and cheese steaks and other sandwiches. I never had lunch from there. I'm sure it's as good as the bagels. I usually get a coffee there as well. Coffee is good. I think they use Green Mountain, maybe. Its fresh and hot too. The only negative to me is the size. It can get tight in there. On occasion, uncomfortably so. It's ok though. I'd rather the occasional minor inconvenience than to have them move to a larger place. Larger place means more cash to lay out which forces prices up. Prices at The Experience are very reasonable. You'll totally get your moneys worth. The folks there are friendly. I've never had a bad experience there. The food quality is outstanding. To me, this is what 5 star is all about. Thanks Bagel Experience. Keep doing what...
Read moreBeen there quite a few times and every single time they do something incorrect with the order. Order a bagel with butter and they put cream cheese. Order a sandwich with ham, swiss and lettuce only and almost every single time they add mayo. The only reason why I stop there sometimes is because my husband loves their hoagies. So we stop in today because it's my husband's birthday and he wanted a hoagie from there. So we start ordering and the woman (probably around 60) rolls her eyes when I start to order for my kids. At one point she shakes her head like she has a problem with what I'm ordering and like it's a hassle for her. My 5 year old son starts throwing a fit and I tell my husband to place his order first before mine so I can handle whatever my son is having a meltdown about. My husband places his order and she storms off. I look at my husband and ask him if she bothered to ask if that was it since my order was not yet placed. He said no she just took the pad and ripped off what she wrote and walked away. He asked if I wanted him to call out after her. I told him no as I was furious at that point. She was outright rude and terrible from start to finish. I literally never write bad reviews ever. This is my first one. I usually just deal with things like orders being messed up. What I don't like or deal with is rudeness where it is not warranted and without reason. If a fast paced job like that is too much for this older employee to handle, then it's probably time she retire. I hope the staff gets talked to about behavior and professionalism. The employee in question is between 5'0"-5'2", probably in her mid 60's, dyed light brown/dark blonde hair and wearing dark...
Read moreI am updating my review to once again emphasize how amazing it is to have a top-notch bagel shop in our little town in the Poconos. This place has always been deserving of five stars!
I have lived in this area for over 20 years and am originally from New Jersey, where great bagel shops are a dime a dozen. I have to say, this place is consistently good! They make a fantastic bagel and an even better breakfast sandwich. Plus, they use Boar’s Head products and don’t overcharge for them. The prices are absolutely amazing for the quality they provide. The owner understands the local market perfectly.
Also, I would like to note that most places around here use off-brand pork roll. The Bagel Experience uses real Taylor Ham, and I cannot thank them enough for that. Taylor Ham has a tanginess that no other pork roll has.
If you are local, I beg you to support this business. Don’t get your breakfast sandwich at the Dunkin’ next door. Honestly, why would you? This shop makes their bagels fresh! When you go in, you’re getting something they made only hours earlier. Dunkin’ uses pre-made bagels from a factory that they heat up, and they taste like cardboard.
This shop cooks all their fresh eggs and freshly sliced meats on a flat top grill. Dunkin’ uses a microwave to reheat factory eggs and pre-packaged meats. And to top it off, this place is cheaper!
Please support this local business; they deserve it. I wish them many years of success and will keep coming back. We are so lucky to have them in our area. You cannot find a good bagel in 90% of the United States, but we’ve got one right here...
