50 cent wing day was a complete horror. Placed an order at 5:30. Said it would be ready at 6:15. I showed up at 6:20. Went to the counter and got told 10-20 minutes. Not a big deal, everyone and their mother was trying to get to get those 50 cent wings. So 45 minutes pass, it's 7pm now and I go up to find out where my wings are. Get told again 10-20 minutes. Waiting another 45 minutes I start going insane and start manically laughing. I go up to the door by the kitchen and just watch... folks it's a complete circus. I'm watching everyone fall apart at the seams from stress. I'm watching this poor kid get yelled at by people in the kitchen. The phone WILL NOT QUIT ringing. Customers are mad. Chaos, complete and utter horror. It's time to take action... I want my wings, I've been here for 2 hours at this point. I walk up in front of the line at the counter... if my order isn't on the cook line that's it, I'll leave. But no I've waited so long, I WILL get these chicken wings. I tell the kid at the counter to put my order on the cook line. I watch the kitchen scramble and stressfully try to deal with the 400+ orders of 50cent wing day. 10 minutes later I get my wings, hot and ready. I'm relieved, so hungry. But also sad that I must leave the chaos and disaster that was fueling my hunger for entertainment. When I get home with my meal I discover that the kitchen was so stressed and fumbling around so much that I got ripped off for 5 wings. What a mess, at this point I know it's fruitless. If I go back I may never see those 5 other wings, I'll be there for an hour MINIMUM. But I am still craving the madness of the situation that was unfolding on Stillwater Avenue. Disappointed, but with a full stomach; I ponder what exactly went wrong this fateful night. How could the kitchen not be prepared? Was there a technical issue that backed up the cooking? Or is wing shack just so tasty that everyone wanted a piece of the pie? We may never know, however the chaos and destruction of the kitchen staff was well worth the 2...
Read moreShort review: I would go back again if only to try the different flavor choices and maybe the sides.
Longer review: As others have posted the wings are not the terodactyl wings that you get from dub-dubs. They are made well done, which I appreciate since at the other place I'm usually worried they have not cooked the cluck out of my chicken. If you have never been here before as I hadn't, the reason the chicken logo has fire coming out of its mouth must be because there flavors are mostly if not all spicy hot. In this review I ordered the Garlic Hot and the Bear Hot traditional wings.
Garlic hot - Crispy with a good punch of fresh garlic flavor and a good amount of heat. That said they were pretty much... alright.
Buffalo Hot - Lot's of kick! Got my nose running and a good amount of sweat on my forehead! Luckily the burn was not that long. As far as flavor it had lots of it. However I am not a fan of ghost pepper flavor.
Also the blue cheese is good and chunky, great if you're a blue cheese lover as I am.
Overall - The service was Professional-friendly. Everything looked good and clean. There is a wait of 15 to 20 minutes since they cook to order. I wouldn't say it's a place to go out of your way for, but if you want to try a new place it's worth...
Read moreMy husband and I dined in December 1, 2023. I want to personally thank DeVontre. He was attentive and was buzzing around cleaning tables, straighting chairs, helping customers with their take out orders, taking inside orders, and I'm sure much much more behind the scenes. I noticed his dedication to his work and I'm sure others did too. In times when help is hard to find, this gentleman busted his butt the entire time we dined in! Please recognize him and let him know I appreciate his solid customer service! Thank you DeVotre!
Miss Larissa, you are just as special and deserve thanks as well! I understand tonight was your first night as lead (or something similar)... You were just as amazing. Even though it was a busy night, you took the time to check on each table. I did not know that veggies were no longer complimentary offered when you purchased wings, but Larissa made sure I had them and didn't even bat an eye. It's the little things that matter... As they make a big difference.
Thanks guys for the exceptional experience! Your customer service has been noticed and your GM should be proud of you...
