I would have to say tonight was the worst service my husband and I ever had. When we got seated, it took forever for our waitress to show up to ask for our drink order, by that time we were ready to order our dinner. So, we gave her our order. It then took a very long time for us to even get our drinks, even water. We finally get our drinks. Then it takes even longer to get out salad and breadsticks. Then a waiter brings out my husbands dish but not mine. So, my husband sits there waiting until they bring my food out which was soup. The waitress comes to the table to ask how things are(by this time all of the salad was eaten), I asked her where my soup was politely. She apologized and said she would go get it, she asked if I wanted more salad and I said yes. So I am waiting and waiting, finally she brings the salad and my soup out. I thanked her and asked if we could please get some more breadsticks please. She said sure. We waited and waited, but no breadsticks. She comes back to the table to ask how things were. I asked her again for the breadsticks, she apologized knowing she forgot them . She then asked me if I wanted more soup, I said yes but told her I would like it to go(because I ordered the unlimited soup/salad/breadsticks), she said she will get it taken care of. So, we waited, waited, she finally brings out breadsticks but states it is taking a little bit longer for the soup. I told her ok. Once again we waited and waited for what seemed like a eternity, waitress comes up and states the manager said that I can't have the soup to go, if I want the soup I have to pay extra!! I looked at waitress and stated I have never had to do that before when I ordered the unlimited soup, salad, and breadsticks. I have always been able to take a container home after eating there. I was shocked. I told her to never mind, just bring me a box for the salad and breadsticks. She finally brings it out, I paid on the kiosk and we left. When you pay for something that is unlimited, you should be able to bring home a bowl of soup that you would have eaten at the restaurant. Like I said, this was the worst service we have ever had. After tonight, I do not know if we will ever be back. Don't get me wrong the food was good, but that was not the issue, it was the service. Very...
Read moreThis use to be my favorite place to eat until I found a baby cockroach in my chicken gnocchi soup! I had ordered a large soup from here because I had a joint pains from rheumatoid arthritis because of the storms we had, but after I ate I developed a lupus flare up and food poisoning symptoms. I’ve been sick since Sunday night the day I ordered the soup. I have pulmonary hypertension, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis.. I’ve been vomiting and have had diarrhea since Sunday night.. I’ll never eat there again or any restaurant! It’s been very hard for me to keep anything down including my medicine that helps me live & prevents me from having lupus flareup, it helps me with my water retention from pulmonary hypertension, and rheumatoid arthritis problems. Aswell as pain medication. I’ve been in so much pain and just very uncomfortable! I’ve lost sleep and I’ve had to take extra medicine because I keep throwing it up. I really hate going to the hospital, especially when this could’ve been prevented if the restaurant would have just kept up with a cleanliness environment and covering the pots of soup when cooking.. at this point I’m going to have to go to the ER because I can’t continue throwing up with diarrhea, especially since I have a terminal medical condition that requires medication in order for me to live. I wish I could give you guys a five star review because the food is so delicious but due to the cockroach that I found in my soup you will only get one star and that’s because I had to put a star in order to let people know about your dirty environment and cockroaches in the soups. Unfortunately people never realize because it could easily pass for a pepper ball or some type of seasoning. It just blends into the soup so people don’t think twice and just eat it but I’m very picky and particular especially if something looks like rat poop I will scoop it out and investigate. Which is what I did today when I was enjoying the chicken gnocchi soup. I immediately started throwing up when I found it.. and after I felt a little better, I called the restaurant. I’m still waiting for a call back. I don’t know how they can fix this since it’s already in my stomach and I’ll never eat there again.. and now I have to go to the ER! Thanks a lot,...
Read moreOlive Garden has been one of my preferred restaurants in town for quite a few years. However, it seems that they've been making changes to some classic menu items that has legitimately ruined the dishes... My favourite entree here has been the Steak Gorgonzola (Steak Medallions, Fettuccini, Balsamic drizzle, Spinach, and a Cream Sauce). Additionally I have greatly enjoyed their Chicken Gnocchi Soup since the first time I tried it. Well, the Chicken Gnocchi Soup is now a poor imitation of what it once was (containing Italian Sausage crumbles and pieces of potato instead of actual Gnocchi pasta). The cream broth of the soup tasted palatable, though it wasn't nearly as good as it used to be. Lastly, the dish formerly known as "Steak Gorgonzola" is now called "Braised Beef Gorgonzola". For reasons that weren't detailed when the manager ended up having to come to our table, the Steak Medallions that were once an integral part of the dish have been replaced with what they're calling "Braised Beef Pieces". In reality, these pieces of severely overcooked, dried up Beef are a poor imitation of anything vaguely resembling Braised Beef. Being a former Restuarant Line Cook myself I am able to clearly recognise that the meat they're using now is actually a precooked, shipped frozen, reheated piece of severely over-flavoured cheap stew meat that is being kept in a hot pan on the line to speed up the preparation time of the dish. The menu price remains the same and if a guest desires to have actual steak for their dish they will be charged extra. Fortunately for me our server was new and unaware that the change had occurred to the dish, so when my displeasure was expressed she fetched the manager who ended up comping the steak for me this one time.
Needless to say, I don't think that I'll be going to Olive Garden again any time soon. There are other restaurants in town who still serve high quality food the way it is expected without making cutbacks to ingredient quality simply to save a few cents on food costs...
The only reason I have rated them as two stars instead of one is due to the manager's excellent service in resolution to my disappointment...
