I have no idea how these 5 star reviews are legitimate. I went there when they first opened in 2020 or so and it was horrible. But I figured, moving back to the neighborhood and it is still around 5 years later, it must have improved and figured out their processes and systems to ensure great food and a great experience.
I was completely wrong. First off, WAY OVERPRICED for what you get. A Bloody Mary should not be $18 with a celery stick and 2 olives, which took 20 minutes to get because none of the ingredients were behind the bar. It is a Saturday at 12:30 PM and there are 2 other people in here. How does anything take this long. What do people order on Saturdays...Bloody's and Mimosas. Whatever. Ordered Oysters Rockefeller, Wings, Fish & Chips and a Breakfast Burrito. Oysters, on point. Wings, solid flavor but totally overpriced for their size. Fish & Chips had ZERO flavor and absolutely rubbery and way overcooked. Finally, Breakfast Burrito had no egg. When mentioned to the bartender, no attempt to make it right or take anything off the bill. Bartender said cook did not realize egg came on the breakfast burrito...LOL!
Finally, the last kick in the face is the 20% tip already included for mediocre at best service. Aside from the Oysters, it was a complete fail and will not be returning. Too many restaurants in Chicago to come back...
Read moreI was there Memorial Day for happy hour and this was the worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant. It took our server Jakari C who also claimed to be the manager way too long to greet us. The bartender couldn't make a house whiskey ginger ale without using a jigger. We were charged $5 for HH whiskey shot and additional $4 for the ginger ale when I simply asked for the happy hour half off cocktails. The server told us that's how they charged for cocktails! I'm a bar manager and I've never had to pay separately for whiskey and soda mixer. Jakari told me that they only sell shots for happy hour. Our food to over an hour to be served not hot ,but warm and overcooked. The hosted sat on his phone as guest came in and seated themselves. There was no sports on the tvs because the staff wanted to watch The Librarian's! I asked Jakari could he put some sports on the tv's, he put on some too loud music and turned the tv's off. I went to this restaurant because I ordered food online and it was good. I decided to go to the restaurant in person to enjoy it. This was awful and I'll never go back, but thanks to the manager Jakari, I'll make it my business to let others not to come to this establishment. And that 20% gratitude for this terrible service was the icing...
Read moreUPDATE: things have changed here. I think the management dialed some things in. Prices are much more competitive, especially with the drinks. Food is good enough. The service can be a little slow, but not bad. I’ll be coming back.
Obviously dont understand the impact of advertising a particular sports team at a sports bar. Went to watch a michigan game (michigan wolverines memorabilia in the bar) and there were only a couple of other people in the place. I asked for the sound of the michigan game to be turned on and was told no, though theyre a michigan bar, they were going to play the sound for the alabama game. Food is average, drinks are decent, but everything is over priced. If youre coming for seafood (for some reason) those options are below average. With more comfortable bars nearby, this place needs to establish an identity. Present yourself as a michigan bar, but you arent. You change what team you support monthly, alienating fans, food and drink is too expensive for a place to watch sports all day. The place is very clean, but i dont mnow who would come...
