We recently stayed in Chicago at the Four Seasons Hotel and it was amazing! The level of service is exceptional in every department. We were greeted at the curb by the friendly and professional first impressions team (aka bell/valet team). We took advantage of the secured parking garage on site. Valet service is worth the price - you get your car by just snapping the QR code. So convenient!! One we made our way up to the 7th floor front desk / guest services lobby area, we were greeted by stunning foyer flowers and seasonal decorations. The lobby is bright and beautiful! Tip: Check out the art installation near the front desk where they have photos of some of the world's most amazing libraries. The lobby lounge is inviting with couches and comfy chairs - a nice place to people watch or browse some of the Chicago coffee table books.
If you need a snack or beverage upon arrival, just east of the front desk is the beautiful bar. Crystal chandeliers anchor the bar and the restaurant, providing the perfect spot to grab a bite. Highly recommend the chicken wings. SO tasty. Also delish is the wagyu potstickers. The bar has an extensive list of spirits and the bartenders are super talented. When we visited, I could not decide on a drink so I picked the base and the bartender made a custom cocktail. So good!! I loved how the team customized my vision.
We did have several meals in the hotel restaurant, Adorn. For breakfast, the French toast is a winner. We can also recommend the Avocado toast and pancakes. Kids are always treated like rock stars and have a good selection of appropriately sized items from which to choose. Everything is always fresh and just like at the bar, if you have a certain preference, the team accommodates. You get the feeling they want you to have things just the way you like them! For dinner, the flash fried Brussels sprouts are outstanding with a nice Thai glaze. We also had the beef short rib which is a must - while also being photo worthy.
Ask about the private dining area where you can reserve a table for 6-8. The personalized attention and quiet space is perfect for a family gathering or a romantic dinner. We used it for both and its luxurious!
Another great reason we chose the Four Seasons is the ability to set our travel/room preferences and the staff makes sure everything is perfect upon our arrival. Highly recommend requesting a lake view suite. So nice to wake up to the sunrise. One of the very best features of Four Seasons Hotels is the app. You have everything, even your room key, on the app. You can chat with the hotel staff to make requests or ask questions. It's so convenient to order room service or have laundry picked up - right from the convenience of your phone. I used the app to book spa appointments as well as find nearby shopping.
In the spa, I booked the Lakefront facial - Tip: splurge on the 80 min which gets you basically a massage and a facial all in one service. After service, you can use the dry sauna or steam room. The pool and fitness center are adjacent to the spa and adds to what can become a day long pampering getaway. They have showers and everything you need to get ready after your service so you don't have to go back to your room if you prefer. In case you do want to return to your room, the spa is located above the lobby so it is easy to go from spa to your room in privacy.
Overall, the hotel beauty, restaurant, spa and other amenities do make the property spectacular but we love the people the most. The staff - everyone from guest services to housekeeping - are just the most friendly and accommodating professionals. They bring first class service to every detail, no matter how small the ask. Sometimes they even know what is needed before it is requested. Pro team all the way!
Highly recommend...

At many points I thought to myself I might as well be staying at Best Western. The staff just don’t care. Aside from housekeeping and Valet everyone else is useless.
Four Seasons is located near many of the city’s major attractions and directly across the street from the 360.
They offer a fully functional Gym(even has Peloton Bikes), Complementary Car Service (within 2 miles), Spa (extra $) and they have a wonderful in house restaurant called Adorn of which I visited several times ($9USD for a can of pop is a tad ridiculous though).
I booked a Standard Room with a Lake view and King Sized Bed. View was gorgeous & bed was very comfortable but unfortunately that’s where the good parts of the room end. The decor and finishes are dated, many of the power outlets didn’t work and the show pressure was a disaster.
They had a terrible mix up with the car service that the staff booked for me at the airport. Granted that I changed my flight and needed to switch my pick up time, I did give them 4 hours notice of the change. Even though I was still within my limits to reschedule and the hotel tried to charge me twice rather than just reschedule. I had to point out their own policy in order for them to not charge me. Given this is Four Seasons and they are a “Luxury” hotel it was completely out of line for their staff to try and pull a fast one.
Additionally they tried to scam me a 2nd time and charged my credit card an additional $145USD for a currency exchange that I provided actual Canadian Cash for. It took 5 calls and 2 emails to get a response or acknowledgement of the matter. When I did get a hold of someone they were rude on the phone and defensive over what happened. I got a really ridiculous email afterwards with a written apology basically saying if you spend more money with us we’ll upgrade your room.
The staff are weirdly distracted at all times and I often see them walking around on their phones. They check their phones as you talk to them and this is hotel managers and staff who are front of house. In a hotel like this iPhones shouldn’t ever be visible to guests, I don’t pay money like that to be ignored by someone on tik tok & instagram.
They also carry Le Labo (which smells like cheapest drugstore sandalwood) as their shower and bath line which to me is far too strong and specific. They replaced the one in my room with a scent free line that smells like plastic. My recommendation would be to pack your own toiletries or you’ll walk around smelling like every other 16 year boy atm.
“Would I recommend this Four Seasons?”not really. Chicago has other great options worth exploring for a better price point and most likely...

Our experience at the Four Seasons Chicago was very underwhelming. Overall, this felt like an average hotel, not the five-star experience we expected. While the staff was nice, the service and overall quality simply weren’t impressive.
One of the biggest issues was the service. We ordered takeout from a local restaurant, but they forgot to include utensils. When we requested some from room service, it took an outrageous 45 minutes for them to arrive, and we were then charged an absurd $125 for them.
Hoping for a fun experience for our child, we visited the hotel’s “kids’ room,” which turned out to be completely disappointing and poorly maintained. The space was more suited for babies, aside from a single large TV with video games. The moment we walked in, we were hit with the overwhelming smell of rotten fruit. A baby bottle filled with old milk was lying on the floor, and the bathroom was a disaster—dirty diapers were scattered everywhere, making the entire area smell like baby waste. It was clear this space was not being properly cleaned or maintained. We left immediately and made sure to wash our hands after being in such an unsanitary environment.
To make matters worse, the room itself was much smaller than expected. The photos online were incredibly misleading, making the space appear much larger than it actually was. When booking, the concierge assured my husband that the king bed would comfortably fit both of us and our six-year-old child, but this was completely untrue. It was so cramped and uncomfortable that we ended up leaving at 2 AM to go home—ruining what was supposed to be a special birthday weekend for our daughter. Had we been given accurate information, we would have booked a room with two double beds instead.
Even something as simple as watching TV was frustrating. The TV kept buffering every couple of minutes, making it nearly impossible to watch anything without constant interruptions. You would think that at a five-star hotel, they would have decent internet capable of accommodating guests trying to watch TV. Instead, it felt like they couldn’t handle basic streaming, which added to the overall disappointment of our stay.
While the staff was friendly, it didn’t make up for the misleading advertising, poor service, and lack of cleanliness. For the price and reputation, we expected far more. Unfortunately, this was not impressive, and we will not be...
