Subject: Unfortunate and Distressing Experience at Selena Hotel, Chicago||I'm saddened to share my deeply disappointing experience at Selena Hotel, Chicago. Over a week's stay, I paid over $1,500 and was consistently met with unprofessional behavior and felt a sense of discrimination.||On my final day, I was inexplicably denied the right to cancel my reservation and check into my room, despite the lack of substantial evidence presented to Priceline to support the hotel's position. I was still billed $350 for a room I couldn't use.||As a person with disabilities, I have protections under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The treatment I received at the hotel was disheartening, leading me to file a complaint with the ADA office.||I would appreciate immediate contact from the corporate team of Selena Hotel, Chicago to address this concern. I don't want this scenario to be a burden for others in the future.||I'm hopeful for a swift and appropriate response to this situation. I eagerly await your correspondence.||Additionally, I had rented two rooms one night, following an incident where I had to switch rooms due to a loud noise coming from the water pipes. The new room had a smaller bed than initially promised, no air-conditioning, and the cable TV stopped working the first night. Despite my requests for maintenance and cleaning, the staff did not address these issues.||Although I may appear youthful, I was driving a luxury vehicle and am not a minor. Yet, I was treated like one, which was wholly inappropriate and unprofessional.||I had a conversation with another guest, ( we will call him Travis), he is a world traveler, and stays only at Selina brand hotels I had some of my art with me we got to talking about how my art might align with the Selena brand as I am a neo, abstract, expressionist. I was considering reaching out, but after this experience, I'm unsure of how to proceed. Despite this unfortunate incident, I've always been a fan of Selena Hotel, it was one of my favorite spots in Chicago, and I had plans to visit other locations around the world.||Best...

BEFORE YOU BOOK HERE PLEASE READ THIS: Think to yourself how could a business get that many positive reviews but be unlisted on yelp? Well a quick look at the reviews on here shows that ALL THE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE. Yup you can pretty easily buy reviews for your business, google is not as filtered as yelp, and all these reviews are fake these people aren't even putting in the time to make an actual email account or name. SHADY ASS BUSINESS
First, if anything is an indicator of unethical business practices its taking down your yelp by saying it's closed when in fact it isn't closed just so you can get rid of bad reviews. Unbelievably shady.
Second, the operations manager kianashanda whatever her name is, is incredibly rude, patronizing, and just an all around unpleasant human being. Very poor hiring choice to represent your business as an operations manager with absolutely no customer service skills. I'd rather hear nails on a chalkboard then ever hear her voice again.
Third, I booked here through a third party. I was hoping I can check in early since it wasn't listed on priceline. I called and they said you cannot check in early. So I called priceline and asked to cancel. I follow up today and they said you cannot cancel the only way is for the hotel to accept it.
So I never stayed at the hotel, I stayed somewhere else and all they have to do is say "that makes sense.we neglected to mention our check in times so he went somewhere else just give him his money back". But this horrible excuse of a business has decided to be petty and keep it. If tremont hotel needs $100 that badly would you really want...
Read moreHotel is in a great location. Initially the front desk was great and got us in early.
There is a mandatory valet charge of $67USD per day which we didn’t know about before committing to it.
The hotel itself is in good shape however you’ll want to be prepared for a very uneven floor with large variances throughout the lobby, especially by the wall across from the front desk. Not really safe for those with trouble walking. The rooms particularly on the 8th floor are incredibly difficult to open. We needed to force the door open in one of our two rooms. Everyone seems to know about the issue, but no one wants to actually fix it. The staff reminded us to really force the door closed when we left, so our stuff didn’t get stolen. Perhaps they should actually fix it.
The billing was an issue. You’ll want to brush up on your accounting before going because you’ll need it to decipher their billing. They’ll even acknowledge that tier billing requires a training session, and that lots of customers can’t understand it. No one seemingly wanted to help address the concern either. The person who typically can help works off site and can’t call you back if you live outside the USA. She can text you however, which may work for some, but is somewhat unprofessional. If you get ahold of her on the phone which is cell phone , the phone drops calls and you can’t understand her. No worries, You can escalate to a Manager, however that line just rings and rings before eventually disconnecting. You’ll need to chase them for follow up and they’ll be curt and unresponsive.
Chicago is an expensive city, but trust me you can find better places to spend...
