La Michoacana 1 — Restaurant in Chicago

A little disappointed with how things are ran here. Service was very slow. Good thing I wasn't ordering for the family. Not every kind of ice cream is labeled and the ones that are are in Spanish. The menus I hate those flashing menus. You have to keep waiting just to read all the items. Again most in Spanish. For those of us that don't write or speak spanish would like to know what those items are and what's in them. Only ordered 2 items a steak torta and funnel cake sundae which should be called a mini for those of you who know what a funnel cake size is. Within making one item the other item slipped their minds. When I had ordered the one woman spoke some English but had a hard time understanding us. She passed our order to another woman who spoke no English and had to keep calling the other woman because she didn't understand what we wanted on our sundae. She also didn't know what went on it till the other woman told her. By the time my torta was made my friend ate her sundae which she said was very good but the vanilla ice cream didn't taste right. Now the torta. Loved how the bread was toasted the flavor was great but the meat on it could have filled a small taco. Since I was waiting for my torta I did get the strawberry ice cream and that was fantastic. Prices are a little high on some items. If I could rate this place a 0 I would I went back in January to buy a mangoniada amd the lady who was there tipped herself I only bought one thing it was $5.24 amd she tipped herself 5.24 as well I ended up paying $10.48 as soon as I noticed I called the place and told her what happened she asked me if I still have a cup of the ice cream and I told her that I did because I wasn’t done with it she asked me to take it in the store which I did and when I was there she ended up telling me that the owner wasn’t there that she was in Mexico and she couldn’t do anything to pay me back that she had to wait for the owner to come back which supposedly would’ve been the next day I let a few days go by and called again I was never able to with the owner and open until today I never got my money back I will not be going back to this place for that reason I also still have the proof because I stayed with the receipt and have...

My 1st time ordering from this location. I actually ordered thru Uber eats, so I have no idea what service is like in the store front. I ordered 3 steak tacos, All the tacos were skimpy on onions and cilantro,the meat was salty, and the meat seemed like it was shredded style as it was not cut up steak. The size of the taco was very small and very pricey. There was green salsa provided with the tacos, and it was really good, not hot but good and flavored.I ordered a large yogurt with fruit.
