Nice modern Chinese restaurant with authentic dishes. A lot of the menu items here you won’t see in Chinatown square, so it’s nice to have variety.
They have candles on the tables with dim lighting that make for a very soothing and welcoming atmosphere. The interior is really nice.
The food was delicious. I had the Szechuan wontons and soup dumplings for appetizers. They were really good and not too spicy. I was able to ask for more chili oil which did the trick for me.
For my entree I had the spare rib and rice cake which was sooooo good!!! The rice cakes were crispy and bouncy on the inside. The spare ribs were so soft and delicious.
My boyfriend got the lions head mini hot pot which had the coolest presentation. It came on a mini portable stove with an active (small) fire to keep the broth from getting cold.
We also shared an order of the dong po pork belly which just melts in your mouth. The sauce on it mixed in with rice just keeps you wanting more.
I left here so full because I couldn’t stop...
Read moreIf you're looking for a hidden gem in Chinatown, Chicago, Nine Garden is it! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant, with a beautiful decor that blends modern design with simple touches. Now, onto the food: absolutely phenomenal! Their menu offers a wide range of dishes, but the Shanghai Smoked Fish and Crab Lion’s Head were standout favorites for us. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and you can tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Don’t skip the Mango Rolling Crepes —a dessert masterpiece that’s as pretty as it is delicious. Service was top-notch too. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and even recommended a few dishes, such as Shanghai Kao Fu, Chopped Chili Fish, and Dong Po Pork Belly, that turned out to be highlights of the meal. Nine Garden is perfect for a casual lunch or a special dinner. The pricing is fair for the portion sizes and the incredible quality. I'm already planning my...
Read moreFull disclosure, my wife and I were on our way to a different restaurant to eat but just happened to park down the street from Nine Garden.
As we were about to walk by we noticed their restaurant.
After looking inside and seeing how clean and beautiful it was, I quickly googled them to see their menu.
After seeing their beautiful food choices we opted to go inside and let me tell you that we are so glad that we did!
We ordered the chicken pot stickers and spicy won ton for appetizers and then ordered the pork belly with sticky rice and Chinese green beans.
Everything came out hot, quick and the taste was literally Chef's Kiss!
If I could taste this establishment 10 stars and a cookie I would.
Oh and as we were walking out I noticed their dessert cooler and opted for this Oreo, banana, caramel drizzle and whip creme magnificent delicious last minute treat.
Please check them out, you will not be...
