Had a terrible experience on 5/24/25. I came here with a group of friends for a 29th birthday. Our server was very rude. He was directly talking to me and saying I had too many drinks. ( I would like to note that I didn’t order any drinks from him, I went to the bar all 3 times, they can play the cameras back and check, I didn’t see this server except the one time he came up to our table told me we needed to slow down.) I had a total of 3 drinks my entire 3 hours there. We were a very relaxed group just enjoying each other’s company. My friend whose birthday we were celebrating recently lost his mom to cancer, so we were all there supporting him and trying to get him to have a good time and to know we were there for him. At the end when we were closing out our tab we tipped him over 20%, even though we all got our drinks at the bar because the manager told him not to come to our table anymore and I told us to order from the bar. If we really had been disruptive or rude, we would have been removed from the building, but we weren’t. They also never cut us off, which means we weren’t over our limit! The server continued to say I had at least 5 or 6 drinks, as we were trying to tell him we understood he was trying to do his job and we were still tipping him! We bought one of their packages, it was the top shelf 2 hour package. They don’t have any kind of limit on how many drinks you can have, so maybe to avoid this issue, set a limit per person? The manager got involved and he wanted to make it up to me by giving me another drink. I didn’t want another drink!!! I just didn’t want to be disrespected! They really can’t do anything to make it up to us. We were the only “diverse” group in the entire place. I have never felt this way before. I was a bartender/server for 10 years at the Cheesecake Factory in Michigan Ave. I know the restaurant industry; our entire group knows the restaurant industry. At no point did the server offer to bring water to the table, or offer appetizers, which is what we are trained to do as servers when people are drinking. My husband was the person who drank the most in our group, but no one at any point said anything to him (he's white). Someone in our group tried getting shots and was told they don't do shots, which is fair. But then my husband returned to our table with shots! Ridiculous! The way we were treated was rude and unfair. Our friend had been there weeks before with an all female all white group and they each had 8-10 drinks and no one said a single thing. Service was horrible. My friends and I felt targeted and scared. It really is terrifying to see how RACIST some of these places still are. Definitely not coming back. And there’s nothing SPiN Chicago can do to make it up. Be better people.

Been trying to reach both Chicago and Philadelphia SPIN offices—phones just ring and ring. No callbacks, no answers. If anyone from either location sees this, please follow up. This is time-sensitive and I’ve already been served.
(THIS WAS WHEN I VISITED BACK IN SEPTEMBER) WAS 4 STARS OVERALL WITH FOOD, SERVICE, AND ATMOSPHERE.
I visited SPiN Chicago recently, mainly because of a great experience I had at SPiN Philadelphia back in May. I first came across SPiN during an event on the rooftop terrace in Philly, and the energy there was fantastic—fun table tennis, a lively bar and restaurant vibe, and a great atmosphere for socializing.
What really stood out in Philly was the hospitality. There was a staff member—possibly a manager—wearing a red and white trucker hat who made a lasting impression. He was friendly, efficient, and handled everything from food and drinks to badges with ease. His customer service was genuinely impressive and made the whole experience feel personal and welcoming.
So naturally, when I found myself in Chicago, I wanted to check out SPiN there too, hoping for a similar vibe. The venue is spacious and has a lot going for it in terms of entertainment and layout. But the customer service didn’t quite match what I experienced in Philly. It was fine, but lacked that extra layer of warmth and attentiveness that made the Philly visit so memorable.
SPiN is a great concept overall—perfect for groups, parties, or anyone looking for a fun, active night out. I just wish the Chicago location had that same spark I...

Tonight, we showed up around 9:15 due to the email saying that tables would be available at 9 because there was a private event in place. When we arrived, we were told that people would start clearing out by 9:30 by a representative of the firm so we waited. After 9:30, when we tried to get a table, we were again told that things wouldn't clear up until 10, so we asked to speak with one of your colleagues. This person did his/her best to be professional, yet could only throw his hands up to say that the lower level was a booked out event and the upper level was also occupied by paying customers and for us to expect to get a table due to the email we received was impossible. This person also said that we had a choice of staying or "not staying".
If you guys truly care about ping pong and customer service, you would have made sure to reserve a table somewhere for eager players such as ourselves responding to your email. This did not happen. Understandable. Mistakes in scheduling happened -- maybe the private booking got extended -- who knows? However, to not even apologize for the mix up and attempt to insinuate to members of the community that the choice was ours: to stay or leave? I have recommended friends to host events at Spin, I had my company book out their own private event in the same space, and I spread stoke on how fun your social league and gotten colleagues and friends to come play. I see now that value of private booked and paying customers will always take priority for you guys over actual people passionate about...
