Cocodine Thai Cuisine has its devotees that lavishes high praises to the place. Was even listed on an obviously misguided list as a top pick for restaurants in Chico. With such impressive credentials, and with our naivety that tends to believe what we read, we ventured on a very special Sunday to this some what hiding locale with high hopes for a memorable, positive memorable, evening dinner. Sadly it was not to be at all. Food ordered: Spinach Wraps with Shrimp, $11. Plate arrived with Spinach leaves in a circular patter with small sections for us to prepare as our waitress helpfully described as Thai Tacos. The shrimp was dried tiny pieces in such small amount that we knew we had been misguided by the title. Fixings included peanuts, red onions, lime wedges, ginger, toasted coconut bits, jalapeño and peanuts, with a little container of their secret recipe ginger-herb sauce. Sounds enticing? Not at all, not a made wrap we were supposed to do our own mix of a decidedly overly expensive nonsense. Appetizer was rejected immediately. 1 Star. Titanic Soup, $10. Combination seafood: shrimp, scallops, salmon in a hot and sour broth. Blended harmoniously is what it said, but broth was lemony, not hot and sour, and nothing like the photo, still managed to be the better of the order, which was not all that impressive. 3 Stars. Phuket Island (the “h” is silent) at $19 each. Jumbo sea scallop and shrimp pan fried with red bell peppers, green beans and onions in mild yellow curry reduction. Sounds good? Not at all. The curry covered the food, and it was probably the sweetest curry I’ve ever had the misfortune to try. The Jumbo Scallop was small to medium, and mostly butchered into even smaller pieces. Very little of it. The shrimp the exact one offered on the Titanic soup small to medium, a real downer of a dish covered with sweet curry. They should have saved the sugar for their own which I am almost convinced they would not eat. Their Jasmine rice could have fooled me, but that’s what they called it. 1.5 Stars. Water served the best of what came to the table. So this is the big honcho? Top pick? Total with gratuity $60, not charged for the ridiculously Spinach wrap, which was anything but. The place busy at 95% capacity, staff prompt and nice. Yes, sorry to say I disagree with those that bestowed greatness to...

This wasn't my first time here but will probably be my last. At least for a while. Went tonight around 730pm with my bf.

I ordered the Eggplant chicken which is what i always have. I liked it. My bf however FOUND A HAIR IN HIS FOOD!(Chicken yellow curry)We were both very disappointed by this. He brought it to one of the worker's attention. She took a look at it and said, "idk how that got there" well lady it obviously fell from someone's head or face. That's how it got there. I hope those people in the back cooking the food wear hair nets and keep their faces shaved because something like this can not happen. It's just gross! Since my bf was almost done with his food when he discovered the hair she deducted a dollar and some change from the bill LOL.

We honestly didn't mind paying full price that wasnt the point. We weren't looking for a deduction. It was more about bringing awareness to the situation. Then after she took our plates away she asked if we wanted dessert. This almost made me laugh. We just spotted a hair in the food and she wants to offer us more food. Hmmmm no just go get us the bill so we can leave.

I would also describe the staff as very ALOOF, all of them. They all seemed ready for their shifts to be over. Not very friendly and engaging at all. A very...

Google map didn't do justice for this place. It pointed me at the other side of the plaza by starbucks. Idk what was up but there's was a difference between typing the address vs the name of the place.

I was in the area and was open to all options. There's not a lot of places at Chico to go to.

Staff were nice but there were only 3 the day I went and the restaurant was busy so it was difficult to get their attention when I needed something. The staff assigned to my seating area didn't really come back after I was fone with the food to ask if there was anything else I was concerned with.

Anyway, I ordered chicken satay with a side of sticky rice. This was enjoyable which I would order again if I visit for next time. Then I added papaya salad (thai style, not laos). It came out pretty salty that I couldn't eat it so I barely touched it.

When the bill came, they didn't charged me for the papaya salad but I gave them a tip because food like that still costed a bit of work time and...

They hit it out of the park with their calamari. I rarely order this dish because it’s so hard to perfect, but I was NOT disappointed by the portion size or flavor and texture!!! It’s hard to get calamari right! The Pad Thai was very good too. There was a nice balance of noodles to mix-in’s. While there were only 3-4 shrimp, there was plenty of chicken and flavor. My husband and I shared the Basil Calamari, Pad Thai, and Sticky Rice with Custard dishes. We were full before the plates were empty. Good portion sizes. The atmosphere is quiet and friendly. The staff are nice, tho not overly attentive.
