Los Arcos — Restaurant in Chico

This used to be El Patron and is now under new owners. First I have to say El Patron was very inconsistent with their food, for every one time it was good three times it was poor. The only thing it had going for it was the fact there is very little to choose from in this area of town. Los Arcos is less expensive than Patron, but is the food any better? Well that can't be decided after going once. I had the Burrito Abel which I found to be pretty boring even though it was very large. Not much flavor, just a big boring mess. The mini taco my son had was decent enough as I snuck in a bite. Next time I will try something different and update my review. With all the choices in town for mexican food I wouldn't recommend it unless you're looking for something on that side of town. I've since gone back for breakfast. The breakfast burrito was pretty good, and big for the price. The Chiliquiles were a poor value and had no flavor. I've changed my review to two stars as there are so many places in chico for good mexican food and this place...

It's pretty white washed Mexican food. Street tacos come with cheese and guacamole. I like both of those ingredients, but they have no place on a street taco. Cilantro, onion, lime and salsa is the standard. Servings were also larger than a traditional place, which is good but also not traditional. This place is probably great for the average person looking for tacos, but traditionalists take warning. The salsa was bland and chunky-watery.
