Wife's birthday, and She wanted to try a new restaurant. Enter Ojiya Japanese Steakhouse. Absolutely NO wait to be seated, and the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. After perusing the menu, we decided to try a little bit of everything...little did we know about the portion sizes. Our order covered the entire table with little room to spare. We ordered the Poke salad, 2 Bento Boxes, both with Beef Teriyaki-1 with Katsu chicken and 1 with a Spicy Tuna roll, Walnut Shrimp, then 4 rolls... Chico Roll, Hot Night roll, Alaska roll, and the Monster roll. To say that it was overkill on our part was an understatement, as there was TOO MUCH food to eat. The cooks outdid themselves as everything was fresh, tightly rolled, and extremely flavorful. The Bento box alone was a meal worthy of trying, but the added food was just too much to finish. The rolls were extremely huge and didn't scrimp on the ingredients. All were decorated and prepared properly, and each was bursting with flavor. Was it worth the experience...YES. Was there more than enough food... YES. Will we be going back...Definitely, but maybe to try the personal cooking experience seated at a grill. Do not pass Ojiya by... stop in and enjoy the dining, you won't be disappointed!

I must say I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. We attended for my nieces birthday, she is a giant fan and except for a town full of our trusty blackstones, it’s almost 4 hours away to find one. We were greeted properly by the hostess who was very friendly. Our server and JP (ask for him) our amazing chef outdid themselves making this experience so much fun. Part of coming to a restaurant like this is the interaction with the employees and all of our needs were met. The restaurant is large, well appointed and exceptionally clean, a great place for small & large gatherings. While I would give five stars for both of these things, the food was the icing on the cake. I traded my miso soup to the birthday girl for her salad, she loved it and ate both bowls. The salad was light and refreshing with a flavorful mayonnaise based dressing, I didn’t even notice it wasn’t a sesame based. Large selection of Sake and mixed drinks all at a great price. There were no complaints from any of us on the main course. Large portions are standard, I tried everything but my favorite was the filet. Shrimp, Scallops and New York was awesome too. I definitely will be back.

This place is pretty special to me. It's a spot my family goes to for special occasions, and they always deliver! The chefs are always extremely nice and they cater to any problems you might have food wise, if it's an allergy or you simply just don't like onions, they got you covered 😉 The staff is always very helpful and friendly as well. They always give good recommendations if you don't quite know what you'd like to eat! The food in my experience is ALWAYS to DIE FOR and I think it's completely worth the price point. I took my first date to this place and the atmosphere was perfect 👌 we got a bottle of Sake and it was ssooooo good! I would recommend anyone dine here. It's always good times no matter the occasion 🤟

RACIST Staff!!

I took my hispanic father to eat here for his birthday, we were sat next to a nice family which happened to be white(which we have no problem with) we exchanged laughs that it was also their dads birthday and how the two shared the day. When staff came they began taking the family's order before us which i didn't think much of, maybe thats just the side they start on per usual, they brought all the plates and drinks in the same order. Then the cook came he said he heard there was a birthday boy, talking about the dad in the other family and i told him that it was my dad’s birthday too, he ignored us. He continued to cook, he did the whole show and directed it to the other family served the other family before us, and gave us our food in a very sloppy manner leaving rice everywhere and even dropped shrimp on the table. Finally he sang the birthday song just towards the dad in the other family and wished only him a happy birthday and ignored my dad through the whole dinner. By the end of the dinner the nice family were the only ones who wished him a happy birthday on our way out.

I went back the next day to talk to them about the incident and they did not care, they only asked if i wanted a partial refund or a gift card, the did not apologize or show any form of remorse. HORRIBLE STAFF HORRIBLE RESTAURANT!

On top of it all the seafood tasted old like it was left frozen for too long and the filet mignon was the worst i have ever tried in any place of dining. Only tasteful food item was the fried rice. Save the trouble, DONT bring your hispanic family, we are not welcomed and they made...

Overall had a horrible experience here. We came after my niece and nephew graduated. The food was way below average. The server seemed as if she wasn’t interested in her job. The manager was rude after we were the ones with the horrible experience. We ordered chicken and shrimp hibachi combos with fried rice and it came with soup and salad. This was before the hibachi experience was happening since we arrived as soon as they opened. The soup is usually my favorite part but this soup was nasty and it didn’t smell pleasant; I’m not sure if it was the dishes or the soup but it doesn’t matter considering the restaurant didn’t smell the best. I’m in no way being biased about this it smelled somewhat like a dirty wet mop. The fried rice was way over seasoned overly salted and peppered. The chicken was a straight disappointment, along with the shrimp and we all spit it out. When we told the manager she caught an attitude and took all of our plates. She proceeded to hand us a check for a salad, a rice, and the tenders my nephew had. I feel as though at least the rice should’ve been compensated considering we already had a horrible experience. The manager got increasingly rude asking about the second half of the payment more than once and circling the table more than I can count while glaring at us. Before we left we decided to use their restroom and was met with a roach. Overall a horrible experience and I’d never...

Came on Sunday 2/25 afternoon around 3 PM. Restaurant was dead with only 2 other tables, one finished right after we got sat. Just one server& one sushi chef Took 10 minutes to get a drink order in (2 waters, 1 hot tea), then 10 more minutes to get them. Ordered gyoza, edamame, orange blossom roll, Chico roll deep fried, and a spicy scallop hand roll. The gyoza were really good, edamame were extremely salty but still good. The orange blossom roll was bland and tasteless even though it said it had spicy tuna in it. Spicy scallop hand roll was mostly sushi rice, cucumber, tobiko and mayonnaise and had no flavor at all. Was not spicy in the slightest. Ordered some to-go food nearing the end of our meal, had to wait an extra 20-25 minutes for it. (A side of teriyaki chicken, a monster roll, and edamame.) Had to keep asking the server for the same things multiple times. Never got refills of water, took about 30-35 minutes after ordering to get the food. She was nice, but not very attentive and didn’t seem to really care. By the time we left, it had been over an hour since being initially sat and the ONE other couple that came in after us got their food, ate it, and left before we got our to-go order. The bill was over $100 for some of the wackest sushi I’ve ever had. Would not recommend this place to anybody. If you want quality sushi and basic service, probably best to...
