Country Waffles — Restaurant in Chico

I was very disappointed in the service that I received today the waiter that served me of course she was waiting on every one else in her section people came and went she never asked me how was my meal and is everything okay did I need more drink or anything then I go to pay for my meal another person came right behind me and then she turned towards that person to allow that person to pay ahead of me and I said excuse me I was here first and then I gave her my money and she put my change on the counter instead of giving it to me in my hand the same way I gave it to her if you're black I do not recommend going here I prayed over my food and I prayed over my water and ask God to make this nourishment to my body and the harm has been done to my food because once I walked in there I did not feel welcome here very disappointed in the service even though my food came within 5 minutes that was the only thing that I liked. Now I'm a big Tipper on my waiter does a very well job and my meal is only 5 to 10 dollars I usually pay way more than my meal cost. very...

Walked in around opening and was greeted with the smell of fresh waffles. Sat down at the bar and was pretty much the only customer in the building. Service was friendly and very fast. Lack of sugar-free options for drinks concerns me. Ordered the American Platter: 3 eggs over easy, 4 sausage links, hash browns, and toast. There are plenty of customizable options but let's get into the quality breakdown. Eggs were cooked perfectly as Ordered. Sausage and Hashbrowns were cooked to perfection. And Sourdough toast was great as well. My only point dock for food was simply bland. No seasoning other than the sausage. Was so good I had to order more :). Atmosphere was very rustic and old fashioned, like out of the 50's, which is great if that's what you're into. Music was country exclusive but it is in the name of the restaurant so fair enough. I would recommend if you want breakfast around 7-8am service will be fast and food will be cooked...

I will start with the good. Overall, the food was delicious. I had a waffle, 2 eggs and 2 sausage. The sausage were particularly tender and cooked just rght. The waitresses were busy but attentive, so I give them 4 stars. The bad: The place is disgustingly dirty and I don't know how they passed a health department inspection. Since I was sitting at the counter, I saw wayyyy more than I wanted to! The counter under the soda dispensers was literally caving in. The hot cocoa machine and coffee grinder were absolutely filthy. Same for the microwave. See pics. I even witnessed one of the waitresses sticking the end of the whipped cream dispenser bag into the cup of hot chocolate while filling it, then stick it back into it's bucket. Cross contamination for sure! Because of these things, I will never be back to Country Waffle. The owners should be ashamed of themselves for letting it get in...
