Farmer's Skillet — Restaurant in Chico

Arrived 9:06am, missed the special $0.99 coffee with meal, so ordered the dark roast coffee for $2.49, which wasn't as good as McDonalds for $1! and was a special order, so a long wait. Ordered the Secial Rib eye and and eggs sunny side up. The BBQ sauce was great. Could not chew rib eye enough to swallow. I am used to Costco meat and eggs, this was Grocery Outlet grade. Wife had California Omelet, a better choice, the filling was tasty, the egg over cooked dry, but BBQ sauce improved. Ground beef was tough, but being ground, could be swallowed. BBQ sauce from a bottle was unspoiled. Perhaps their previous cook got displaced in the fire, and they are searching for one that can cook, or maybe I just have to keep looking for a breakfast place that expects a customer to want good tasting coffee and omelet for breakfast! It's a kindness they don't claim to serve a tasty dinner. Gave a star for being close to motel, a star for waitresses smile, and a star for keeping my coffee cup full. Nice spot! I am temporarily staying on the area for work. I am getting tired of fast food and hotel fare. This place was easy to locate and provided a good menu for breakfast and lunch. I tried the French Toast plate and was pleased by the generous helping and the flavor of everything. The eggs were fluffy and the sausages big and flavorful. French toast slices were big too. This was at 12 in the afternoon. I went in for lunch but the breakfast looked so appetizing I had to give it a try. My coworkers and I will be back. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive and the wait time between ordering and set down was quick. This is place is a gem. Look forward to actually trying the lunch...

This used to be called the Country Waffle (the last time I was here in March 2015). I'm not sure if ownership or anything else has changed. I haven't eaten here yet, but will post as soon as I do.
