Java Detour Inc — Restaurant in Chico

THIS IS SPECIFICALLY THE PLACE ON THE CORNER OF ESPLANADE, & EAST AVE. I'll never go back again. I'LL STIVK WITH THE FRIENDLY CARING EMPLOYEES AT THE JAVA ON MANGROVE & E. FIRST. AVE. So, the staff are extremely rude! I have been going to this one & the one on mangrove for well over 13 years, & I've never been treated so poorly. The "manager" Tori couldn't even treat me with basic customer service respect. They were very rude, & not professional at all! I've never had such a horrible experience at this, or any coffee shop ever. So, when I first came thru, I'd ordered an xl hot mocha & asked that the shots be fresh, & pulled right when they are ready, that is $5.05. They gave me a large hot mocha, & charged me $5.40, which is for an xl blended, I believe. I didn't even say anything, I just asked for the extra large hot mocha that I'd ordered, & let them keep the extra change. And I left. It tasted horrible. The shots were over cooked, while 2 of the 3 girls in there were chatting at one of the busiest times of the day. So when I came back to talk to them when it was slower, that was when the manager was extremely rude, tried to shut the door in my face, & refused to remake my coffee so I had to drive to the one on Mangrove to...

Damn! I really loved this place when I started visiting just a few short months ago and unfortunately it did not take long for that to change. There seems to be one staff member consistently being inconsistent and leaving room for doubt, I believed it to just be an honest mistake initially until it happened a second and third time with the same person!

To be clear, I basically order the same thing each visit and was surprised to find myself suddenly paying more about a month ago. I thought it might be a hike in prices which is understandable until the next time I went, and with a different barista helping me, the price was back to what I would pay originally. Having gone back and encountering this particular worker, wouldn't you know my total was higher than usual (and not even the price I last tendered with this specific person!..) ugh. Consistently inconsistent!.. and I hate to say it but that might not even be as bad or as frustrating if they weren't rude in their interaction as well. It sucks!

Basically my last trip there was yesterday. I know there are definitely some establishments missing in the area :/ but one thing we're not lacking in around here are places to get coffee and people more willing to...

I'm pretty sure I have written a bad review for this place before. But here is another one. If I could give this place negative stars for the worst customer service ever. I would. Not only were the breakfast sandwiches cold, cheese not melted and the croissant not toasted. We pulled up behind someone else in line. But when we got to the window they had apparently stopped wanting to serve customers. We waited thinking maybe they were busy finishing something up in the back. They weren't by the way. We could hear there gossiping from the window. I yelled hello trying to be polite to get there attention. Eventually we had to honk the horn at them. That's when they came to the window and apologized for not knowing we were there. I know they heard us bc everytime I would try to get there attention by talking to them from the window they would stop talking and get quite. Literally the only time we come here is once in a blue and usually for the breakfast sandwiches. And everytime something goes wrong with food and always the customer service. Which is why we never go here! Please hire some...
