Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Chico

I went to get a bite to eat here with my daughter after having a very long day and just getting out of a prompt care with my child. There weren't a lot of people dinning but the drive thru was busy. There were only two employees at the time. One female doing the drive thru window and one young man making the food. We waited for a few minutes and the young man said someone would be with us shortly. A few minutes later the lady who was covering the window took our order. She complimented my nails and asked where I'd gotten them done. After we sat at a table and a few minutes later the young man actually brought our food to us. And then asked if we needed anything else. We asked for some dipping sauce and he went and brought those back to us as well. The drive thru was still busy, but both employees were very attentive and multi tasked beautifully. For a fast food place under staffed and busy, they still made us feel important and welcomed. They try most of the time. I think they do, anyway. I believe it is a lack of retention that is the issue here. Unable to keep employees means there is something wrong with the franchisees and management. Perhaps the owner has given up, maybe the management has become complacent or it is some combination. I don't pretend to know the inner workings of the place, I can only speculate. They appear to have brief moments of hope sweep through the place and it is immediately noticed. They get better for a week or two then it is back to the same ol same ol. Going inside is where it is the most ....disrespect.... I've been inside, where I waited well over 30 minutes before someone acknowledged me as a human. It gave me that warm, tingling feeling that made me want to hug a camp fire and adopt a werewolf. My burger was the best I've had from them in a very long time. They had been very hard around the edges and even the buns were a bit hard but this last trip, I admit I destroyed that burger happily. Lower stars for service because I ordered through the app for carryout but when I got there, the lobby was closed and I called but still has to wait in the drive thru line, negating one of the primary reasons of ordering through the app. My food was supposed to be ready at 12pm and I pulled away from the window at 12:37pm which is a long time when you're hungry and my friend was starving.
