Reasonably priced, super authentic, incredibly fast, ridiculously nice, absolutely delicious.
All of the meat choices have different flavor and texture profiles, so you can get the same dish in a huge variety of ways if you normally get carne asada on your burrito and just aren't feeling it that day
The beans, rice, meat, and everything is all seasoned perfectly and all compliment each other very nicely. There's spice, but it has a reasonable spectrum of heat that will satisfy the wide variety of heat tolerances people have.
And the salsa, especially the red spicy salsa which is my favorite, is some of the best homemade salsa I've had from anywhere, restaurant or home cooks. They have it in pico de gallo style for mild, and a smooth blend for spicy. The salsa is the shining star that solidifies this restaurant as one of the best Mexican joints I've eaten at period.
11/10, 5/7, 20/20, 3 thumbs up, and a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. If you like authentic Mexican style food and live in chico, you're doing yourself a disservice to not try this restaurant...

Read moreAnother date night with the wife and another Mexican restaurant to try. Upon arriving, we were seated immediately and offered drinks. We were presented with chips and salsa after only 2 minutes and allowed to peruse the menu. The salsa was watery with little bulk to it, but that's the same for a lot of restaurants. I chose the flauta plate while she opted for the Carne Asada fries. While the fries were tasty...offering plenty of meat, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream, they were also undercooked and pale, offering no crunch. The flautas were crunchy and full of ingredients that made it a stand-out item. The beans were well seasoned and perfectly cooked, but the rice was bland and offered little flavor. There are better restaurants in Chico, but if you're looking for fast, cheap eats, this will work for you. If you prefer a more established business that serves better food, there are...
