Man, I really hate to say anything negative about this restaurant because the food is usually wicked good, and great quality for the most part ( not the sushi though, ordered it a few times and wasn’t good and expensive but everything else is great when cooked properly) over the years there’s been many issues. Now they are definitely WAY overcharging! The last 1 1/2 years everything went up $5-$7 per item! It was pricey before but now it’s absolutely insane! It cost us $50 for a pu pu platter for 1, a small house rice, and small crab Rangoons. Not only are we paying A LOT more but we’re getting way less food. It’s very noticeable since we were regulars for awhile. We knew what to expect. Now, not so much. this is happening at other restaurants too, not just this one. So we’re banning those places from now on. It’s cheaper to buy food to cook ourselves. But This has been an on going issue especially for the last 6-8 months. Almost Each time we order, it’s more then the last. If you make an online profile you’ll see your past orders. I really feel like we’re getting ripped off. We all work very hard for our money and enjoy eating out time to time but now It’s no longer affordable and will need to stop until they drop their prices and go back to giving normal sized portions. We can get a much better dinner elsewhere with and take home leftovers for way less. I’m not even a big eater. Just myself with this same order, before I’d get 4-5 meals. Now it’s only 2 and a snack. my eating habits have not changed. Our most recent meal was for two people and it barely fed my boyfriend. I had a few bites of each thing. When we’re both eating we usually get a pu pu platter for 2 but we couldn’t fathom spending $70! So I downsized it. Then they charge a sevice fee to use their site ( better then calling and having them not give us the correct order, at least in the site they can read it, and hope it’s accurate) anyways, a tip, then $5 for delivery. I live 1.5 miles down the street. That’s alot to charge. I can’t walk or drive due to a medical issue so I had no choice but order delivery. So I guess it’s for the convenience. I guess going out to eat is something of the pass until things return back to normal bc of covid. customers are suffering financially too, Not just businesses. Who knows, maybe they loss too much business due to increasing the prices and haven’t recognized why and now they’re bringing up the cost even more to make up what they’re losing? Also I think they hired new cooks. Our last two orders we had to throw away most of the food because it was way over cooked, burnt and dry. Those times We ordered much more food because the kids wanted some. So we ended up going to a fast food restaurant instead of calling and complaining. it took over an hour for delivery. The kids were starving and wanted to eat and go to bed because it was late. But we had to spend so much more money! Which isn’t fair. Anyways I kindly asked them this time to please not burn our food again. They were nice enough to call and apologize but it would’ve been nicer if they gave us a discount for that order. But they did not. Needless to say, we’re gonna take a break from this place for awhile. I know no one’s perfect, it’s hard to run a business but you want to keep your regular customers happy so they keep returning to support you. We originally stopped eating here several times over the years due to issues and hope for improvements after awhile. Sadly, it’s just one thing after another. I mean the food is delicious but not worth the price anymore. Too many cons instead of pros.
I also want to mention that I ordered directly from their site. If you use grub hub, Uber eats or any of those delivery services, the cost is even more! Like it’s insane! About $4-6 more per item!! Then you get charged a service charge, delivery fee, a tip, and there’s one other fee I think. It’s about $17-$20 more then getting off their site. Keep that in mind so you don’t get ripped off more then once for the same food. Ok my...
Read moreI am sorry to have to post this review because I WAS a HUGE fan of Blue Asian Cuisine from the time they opened and always gave them rave reviews... until this evening. I always felt they had the best authentic tasting Chinese food around and encouraged others to go there. But this evening's order has changed my mind about ever going back. We haven't ordered Chinese food out in a while and I was so looking forward to dinner. I placed an online order for their House Fried Rice (which I always loved) it always packed with chunks of Pork, Chicken, Beef and a number of Shrimp. I also ordered Beef Teriyaki. There was only one size for each...so we expected to get the same size we always received. Each was priced online at $10.95. The rice dish we received was small, only about 1 1/2 cups of rice with teeny tiny little bits of pork, chicken and only 1 shrimp. It also inculded a few beansprouts and a couple of pieces of green onion (even though I very specifically ordered it without onion). We received 3 Teriyaki strips. I get that they are trying to keep control of their prices...but cutting portions to this extent is ridiculous. I'd rather they be upfront and increase their prices accordingly, like everyone else has had to do to maintain the quality of their food and portions. The online ordering system said that the restraunt may call to verify our credit card information. My husband decided he would pay when he picked up the order. But their system would not process the order without our credit card information. We received no call to verify the credit card. What we did receive was the surprise that the order was billed out at nearly $3 more when he picked it up . This included a $.50 online credit card charge. When my husband brought the discrepancy to their attention, they apologized with the excuse that their online system wasn't able to process the credit card payment and the price quoted online and in the email confirmation, was wrong. The owner had raised the prices. What? Like in the last 10 minutes? Instead of giving him a credit for the over charge, they gave him two burned egg rolls instead. So...while I loved their food in the past. I find it hard to ignore deceptive practices of bait and switch. If I had gone to pick up the meal, it would still be sitting on their counter. $27+ for 1 1/2 cups of overcooked rice with less then 1/8 cup of tiny pieces of pork and chicken and 1 shrimp...along with 3 thin strips of Teriyaki is a bit too much for...
Read moreAnna should be ashamed of herself, I have no idea how this place stays in business. her prices absurd, for me to order a small pork fried rice, and 2 small appetizers and eggroll it's 38-40 dollars!! who charges 5.25 for 2 eggroll?! on top of the absurd pricing, they pay no attention to detail. they go by phones number instead of name, I gave the kid behind the counter the number that placed the order twice and he still gave me the wrong order and then they are unapologetic and rude when they have to fix their mistakes. To wrap it all up as said in many MANY other reviews the wait times are also terrible, no matter what you order they tell you 20 mins but I show up after 20 mins and Every.Single.Time. I wait atleast, the very least 15 more mins for my food, the delivery service is just as bad too, as said above 38$ for rice two apps and an eggroll and it takes them an hour and fifteen to two hours to get you your food. At first this was a better alternative to going all the up to Hamden Ponds to Golden Peacock or to East Longmeadow to Tao's for chinese food. But at this point, I'm no longer...
