Sweeney's Pub & Grub — Restaurant in Chippewa Falls

Walked in last night (Saturday) 2 adults 1 child, we sat at the very end of the bar & were ignored for a good 5 min as the bartender finished her conversation with another person (6 others total in the building) only to be given our drinks then she instantly walked away again until I flagged her down and asked if they serve food when she grabbed a menu basket from further down and put it in front of us not saying a word. The food was really good and even better priced, just very unfortunate to feel like we were a problem for this bartender for simply coming in and ordering drinks and dinner. We used to come here for fish fry before the pandemic and it was always delicious. A real traditional WI fish fry. We hadn’t been back til now. The fish fry was so disappointing. The fish clearly came out of a box, like big fish sticks. The fries were mushy. There were no other sides like slaw or toast like we enjoyed in the past. The food was hot and the service was great. Service was prompt, friendly, and excellently balanced between not to much interaction and not to little. The food was greatly portioned as to not over or underfeed. The prices were more than fair, the environment not to mellow or over the top. Last but certainly not least the coleslaw damn the coleslaw it was sweet with a little dill taste not to watery and plenty of crunch that is the hardest thing for me to find some good coleslaw.
