Chippewa Falls Public Library — Attraction in Chippewa Falls

This was my first time at the Chippewa Falls public library! I spoke to someone in the youth department (Jessie?) about locating a Children’s book and they were incredibly helpful and kind. They set aside the book for me even (I just needed confirmation it was up there but she went the extra mile). When I arrived to pick up the book I stopped in the bathroom and loved their sign about hand washing (see picture) and then my experience went down hill from there. I got help from a person at the front desk who was nice but seemed like they were possibly overwhelmed/being pulled in multiple directions so I felt bad bugging them, but I appreciated their help. When I was directed to someone else at the youth desk to officially pick up the book, the 1 minute interaction I had with them was like working with a storm cloud, so unfriendly, rude, and gave every bit of “I hate my job” energy. Since they work in the children’s section, I just really hope they soften up for kiddos because no one should be forced to deal with that, let alone littles who are enjoying a library. I drove 35 minutes from my dorm to borrow books here because every library in my immediate vicinity is practically barren. The librarians were incredibly helpful and nice.

Honestly I should've been forbidden from borrowing books because at the time I had 3 books checked out from a different library months past their due date, but they let me check out what I needed on the basis that I return my overdue books ASAP. Out of fear of disappointing them, I have not had a single overdue book since!!
