Captain Sam's Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Chula Vista

When it comes to this restaurant the food is amazing. However, there customer service is beyond poor. I had an issue with me not receiving my food thru a third party, and the manager did not even offer an apology until I mentioned it to him. Regardless, of how many people you have working at your restaurant, or lack thereof, customer service is always key. The manager literally argued with me when I called. I was upset that someone took the food which I ordered for my family. He told me that it's my problem and I should contact UberEATS. Sometimes, even if it's not your fault an "I'm sorry" goes along way in certain situations and this was one of them. Also, my family has spent well over 100.00 dollars at this restaurant and they will never see another dime from us. I hope no one else has to experience the manager's attitude and blatant lack of sympathy for the customers. Please, don't order from the Chula Vista location. They have another location on Home Ave. And it's the food is just as good and the customer...

Fish cravings satisfied. We had a hankering for fish and chips but not from a dine in restaurant. As it turns out, this was a deli style setting inside a mini mart/liquor store. I digress. We decided on the Cod fried fish and shrimp combo, but you can choose from Tilapia, Rockfish, or Catfish. Cod is more chunkier and flakier, I think. It was slightly overcooked, but the cornmeal batter was light and crispy. Same for the shrimp. I had the coleslaw, which was lightly sweet. The Banana pudding was good, she enjoyed it more than I did, it was good!Overall I think the price is a little high for the setting yet I enjoyed the meal and probably will return to sample the Rockfish and Tilapia. We got the fish and shrimp plate and it was awesome!!! The staff was friendly and said that it would take about 12 minutes to prepare.. We watched him drop the marinaded fish into the breading and then into the fryer. No frozen stuff here.. when it was ready, it was put into a box with a large piece of bread on the bottom covered in wax paper and then he loaded two large fish fillets over generous handful of fresh and hot fries. The ride home was hard smelling all that good hot food waiting for us to eat.

Once home, it was delicious and very flavorful. It’s not cheap, but if I were sitting in his restaurant , it’s worth every penny and more. Great food and superior service. ...
