These people have no business running a hotel. They have no idea on how to treat people with disabilities. My sister is a retired officer. She has a lot of seizures and some of them are so powerful that she falls. I got a dog and I soon found out that the dog was able to alert me when my sister has seizures all well as other medical services. This dog has to go with her everywhere. I booked a room at Hecor Hotel in Chula Vista, CA. My sister and I are currently staying at different hotels. First Hecor hotel denied my stay at the hotel after taking my deposit off my card and my room already paid for because of my sisters disability dog. I was asked the nature of the disability and was told that I had to provide a service dog card in order to stay at the Hecor Hotel Chula Vista CA. I told them that I am my sister's caregiver and they were breaking the law by demanding documentation to prove that the dog is a service dog and by asking the nature of my sister disability. After about 5 minutes of going back and forth, the manager stated that we can have the dog in the room but had to provide an additional 100.00 for the pet. I again told them that they are breaking regulations but I was tired of arguing so I just paid the additional deposit. The next day, my husband was told by another manager that my dog was not a trained disability dog because he barked. Although we were checking out of the room, the Hector rep again asked for us to prove that my sister dog is a service animal. This female employee at the counter started talking to another guest and told me that she needed to show the other guest my documentation that shows the nature of my disability that is needed for us to have a service animal. It is 340am and my sister keeps asking me about why she can no longer have her dog. Unfortunately, the seizure makes my sister forget things and sometimes her memory is missing some of aspects of conversations. I'm so upset with these people. I am so embarrassed that Hector Hotel would share of disability issues with other guest and now my sister has that she has to get rid of her dog because of what they said to her. She is homeless and living in hotels at this time. I did find another hotel but it hurts me to see my sister cry and ready to give up because she feels that people no longer want her around because of her disability. We just lost our father a couple of months ago and are going through a lot. I'm thinking of getting an attorney because I don't want any other disabled people to experience the humiliation that I felt and the...
Read moreChecked in early evening; the front desk was very lovely and welcoming, offering champagne/water upon arrival.
Room well maintained and decorated tastefully. There was an interesting choice of light fixtures/placements vs the switches they were attached to, but more of a novelty than an annoyance. Wifi included with stay, but the Television in the room didn't have any signal or access to channels. Not a deal breaker, but I personally like some soft, televised sounds to dampen the noise of the neighbors.
You can hear foot steps walking, showers turning on, doors opening and shutting, as well as the soft murmurs of conversation from the guests next door. I'm not mad at other guest for staying at the hotel and living their lives, but if the sweet sounds of silence are what you are looking for, this stay is not for you.
The beds are inviting, but way too soft for my frame, and the pillows are very large, so the body sinks down while the head is craned up; I ended up using one of the large pillows to fill the void beneath me, but that only solved one of my issues. (My mistake for forgetting bringing my own pillow.)
There was a strange buzz that we kept hearing through the evening. I'm not sure if it came from the AC/heat unit, or the vibration of a neighbor's cell phone. But it happened at just enough oddly timed intervals to be a nuisance.
We just needed a place to stay from a long drive to a Quince. It's fabulously located next to the freeway, 7-11, gas station and metro station. There is a taco shop across the street that looked like they served good food, but we didn't have a chance to try it because by 3:30am we were woken up by some people outside causing a ruckus. The buzzing never stopped and I was never able to truly get comfortable.
The stay comes with a complimentary continental breakfast in what appeared to be a cute breakfast nook, but I can only tell you what it looked like because we packed up our things and went to drop off our keys at 5am.
The young women at the desk could not have been less interested in our existence, but they have a box to drop room keys off, so she didn't need to task herself with looking away from her desk monitor when we said thank you, but her voice did acknowledge us with a 'you're welcome' so it wasn't a completely awkward moment.
In all, it's centrally located with clean accommodations; wifi and parking included. Bring your earplugs/earbuds, your own pillow, and your own form of media and you're probably in for...
Read moreOne simple sentence: Urine stained mattress and pad, and I had to call the police b/c they refused to refund my money.
I checked in, with a room that was to be 2 beds. I came in, and it was one. The girl at the desk told me first that the website lists "2 twin beds" which means they push 2 beds together to make ONE bed. That means every king bed in a hotel is actually 2 beds? No. I told her that I needed 2 beds. She then told me a guest had ordered they be pushed together, so they were. I asked her then why is there one headboard and one base? Liliana told me that the guest had made it so. Then she told me it was two beds pushed in to one and housekeeping would be up to separate them. Half an hour passes.
I strip the bed b/c I always do. On the pad was a large urine stain with pubic hair (see photos). OK-I'll ask for a new pad, too...so I pull it back. Matching it underneath, meaning housekeeping had never changed the pad, was the same urine stain.
The front desk girl (Liliana) refused to let me speak to a manager or the owner, who kept calling. I called my CC company and refuted charges, which made her call her "out of the country" manager right away and magically get ahold of him, but she never mentioned a refund to him, and told me that he refused to give her the code to refund it and would call me the next day.
I then called the police to file a report that they refused to let me speak to a manager and refused to give me any proof I checked out as soon as I checked in. When shift change came, the new man at the front desk was very rude, b/c the girl had told him that I had no reason to be there and was just difficult. He had no idea of the urine stained bed until I showed him pictures. He was able to get me a receipt with a time stamp that she refused to do.
The manager still refuses to take my calls, and has not spoken to my credit card company despite their calls. The manager, Raphael, has refused to call me...
