Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Chula Vista

UPDATE: 10/28/2023 Let me start saying we love to go here and understand that sometimes will take more time to get your order when is packed. BUT yesterday it happens again, I place the order online via the app, arrived after 15-20 minutes and my order was not ready, wait another 10 mins a guy ask me twice for my name and he said will look into my order BUT not order came out. After 30 minutes same guy came (very polite) and asked me if I want the refund OR if still want my order....??? Of course I want my order and he just said maybe someone else took my order (Really?!?!?! after been waiting for 30 minutes...???). Anyway, I let it go and understand it as a mistake. Once I get the order still have to wait 5 more minutes and asked 2 times for my cold coffee. Still I keep calm and understand. BUT as soon as I arrive home and opened the bagels one of my 4 items was totally incorrect, wasn't the one I order, not the bagel we requested.

Again, I understand could be overwhelming for the guys working there BUT is unacceptable been that slow and still giving wrong order and not complete.

Hope the owner can fix and support his team and make us customers happy.

LAST YEAR: 2.I just received today a response from owner. An is getting worse, first they called me "Miriam" LOL (See below if they still have the comment) and second they send me webpage where I most complain but is for different company an even if I try to fill the complain in there this location is not there. Getting worst.

1.This morning I order ahead of time and get 30 mins after I ordered and no order ready. I still have to wait 20 more minutes for an online order. What’s the purpose of order online if they are not ready? Seems they need somebody to look online orders and not only the ones...

You can expect the same quality food you find at other Einstein Bagels: pretty good!

The service was friendly and fast, although their setup for dealing with covid and social distancing could have been better. Only 3 customers are allowed in the store at a time regardless of the size of your party. Because the coffee and order pickup are inside you sometimes have to wait for another slow customer to make their coffee or find their order. I imagine at busier times this system could bottleneck the service.

I was disappointed by their coffee selection: hot or iced, light, medium, dark, or decaf, and cream. You have to ask for sugar and lids. Don't expect any blended or espresso based coffees. The coffee itself was fine. Not old or weak but not exciting or special either.

I got an avocado, bacon, and tomato egg-white bagel, but they were out of plain bagels?! So I got an everything bagel.

It was delicious! The bagel itself didn't taste particularly special to me, but the avocado, egg, bacon, and tomato tasted fresh and flavorful. The balance was great and they cut it in half so I didn't crumble it everywhere!

I was not totally filled by the amount of food I got, but I suppose that's what you need to expect going into a bagel shop. They have more filling options with lots more meat and eggs, I just didn't get one.

STFD. Chopped bacon infused jalapeno with cheese. Have you tried this new bagel? We all know bacon makes everything taste better, unless you're a non-meat eater or anti-pork. Einstein's has a variety of bagels for all palette's. Sweet, spicy, onion, dessert, plain all types of choices. The bagels are easy to chew and enjoy whether toasted or not.

I usually come between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. and there's generally a long line. Although the service is quick, there is a wait. Each bagel range between $2-350 depending on the topping.

Einstein's in general is a four star but this location needs to monitor how many customers enter because it's too small and crowded. I remember when the restrictions allowed 4 indoors at a time and this worked well. Go back to that please.

The only tip I have is ask for light butter because there is so much butter you will get cholesterol. Or you can choose cream cheese peanut butter, almond butter, Nutella, margarine, nothing, or other topping choices. Better yet, pre-order and pick up to avoid the long line and...
