Custumers be careful, Health safety is a MUST.!!! I am here right now, I chatted with the first customer service personnel, I stated, "this is my first time here" I was just trying to connect. My husband asked politely " please no cheese", he stated this is not just intolerance, it's an ALLERGY. We were told "THE DISH DOESN'T HAVE CHEESE' THE INGREDIENT IS NOT LISTED", then when i ordered I asked NO CHEESE, again we were told mechanically, THE DISH DOESN'T HAVE CHEESE' THE INGREDIENT IS NOT LISTED" We ordered to go, the service was standard at this point. when we left, I realized I didn't have forks and napkins on a TO GO, order. I drove back to the location, a young man asked me if I was picking up a to-go order and asked for my name, I told him politely my to go other didn't have forks, then I was interrupted by an employee on a different cashier, The employee name is DALIA: Extremely RUDE, condescending, to me and to her co-worker, she stated in a belittling voice and rude body language: "Customers HAVE to request forks, is in the sign, and she pointed on a small black and white print sign that as in front of the black cashier machine, "stating the rule" When it was time to eat, all the food had CHEESE, PLEASE SEE IMAGE. Custumers, there's plenty of delicious Mexican food in the area, if health is your priority, avoid this place. This place: 1.- poor customer service 2.- poor communication 3.- healthy safety request not considered 4.- Lies to the customer about their menu 5.- Disrespectful to the city of Bonita

I've been coming to this location for the better part of almost 20 years. Of course, it's moved around a little bit over the years in this little shopping center. But, I've always enjoyed coming here to eat! However, it comes with a heavy heart to say the quantity vs. cost has gotten considerably worse over time. The basic California burrito comes with only fries, meat, and cheese. (And very little at that.) Anything else costs extra. The sour cream and hot sauce I added myself after. Considering that there are far more Mexican burrito shops now, compared to 20 years ago, there's very little reason to come here anymore. Their competitors sell considerably larger California burritos comparatively to Lolitas. They've done a lot to improve the physical locations, but it seems to have come at the cost of the portions they now provide customers.

I'm on a mission to rank all the California burritos in San Diego! Number 8: Lolita's Mexican Food. This place is a gem.The burrito was huge, hot, and packed with flavorful meat and crispy potatoes. The tortilla was top-notch too. Out of the 8 places I've tried so far, this one takes the cake. I almost finished it before I could even snap a pic. The wait was super short, and they have a bunch of tasty sauces to choose from. It was $12, which is pretty standard for this city. Product: 10 out of 10 The staff was super friendly and respectful. They even called me "Boss". Service: 10 out of 10 The cafe was super clean and had a nice vibe. It wasn't super decorated with Mexican stuff, but it was clear they care about keeping it clean. It's stylish and you can even sit outside and enjoy your burrito in the shade. Ambiance: 10 out of 10

The sad thing is that the food was I guess what you expect. Two stars is generous. How hard is it really to make a carne asada burrito and rolled tacos. The fact that within a stones throw there are at least 10 taco shops from this location, you’d think attention to customer service would be important. Set yourself apart and show why you’re paying for what this location is asking. Lolita’s has been around a long time. Used to be the go to, but not any more. Walked in and waited while the person behind the register finished her conversation within another employee about some guy. As best I could make out from her comments I guess he’s cute but not that great. Yeah, I heard a lot more about the guy. Takes my order, I put my card in the card reader and the system asks if I want to leave a tip. I always do. We’ve all worked in food service at one point, and with the current situation we can all use a little extra I guess. I wish I could get my tip back. As soon as my card was approved she proceeds to tell me to wait outside, COVID I guess. But I still had a question, and before I even got the question out she repeats even louder for me to wait outside. I guess they were in a hurry to finish the original conversation. When I did get called, i walked back in and the guy behind the counter literally extends his arm outward towards me while carrying on his conversation with the other employee, didn’t even make eye contact or say thank you for coming in. The bag he handed me had the container that holds my order on its side. Everything inside now flushed against the side. Maybe I’m being picky or sensitive, but when you make a product that’s made ALL OVER the place you’d think you’d want to stick out for other reasons. Sad. Used to be a go to place. Oh, and for grins... my...

Mmmmm..... California Burrito. This location is the reason I do not go to the other locations in the Chula Vista area. Though it is in the same shopping center when Lolita's first opened shop in Bonita, it is a few spaces from its original spot. Which is better because there is more seating space inside and outside than the previous place. Its recent remodel of the inside allows better seating options and maneuvering to the drink dispenser and salsa bar. It has been the primary mainstay of satisfying my Lolita's cravings. Their old spot was also my first time entering the deeply salivating and exceedingly tantalizing world of Carne Asada Fries and the California Burrito. The hold it had on me back then was truly something. It kept me up all night sometimes..... Ohhhhh what lengths I would go to to satisfy those cravings;p Harold and Kumar have nothing on me. Was my California Burrito on this visit in June as good as when I first tried it all those years ago? Of course!! 'Bonita' in Spanish can mean beautiful, pretty, nice, or lustrous. Interestingly this Lolita's location is their only location that has napkins freely available for its customers to pick up near the salsa bar. I feel perhaps they want to be sure you remain your 'bonita' or 'bonito' self after devouring your food;) It can get messy! HehHeh! Check them out if you have not yet done so. Muchas Gracias Angelica and everyone...
