Mariscos La Reyna del Sur — Restaurant in Chula Vista

Paying customer BEWARE of the old bait and switch when you order your food or even water here! We were starving as we had not eaten all day. We ordered from the menu, and as I had the menu page open—I clearly indicated that I wanted the marlin tacos while pointing to the line where it said “tacos de marlin 3 for $12”. Then we asked for water, because my friend was coughing—they brought bottled water: I thought it was weird but then figured they must have had an issue with their water. My friend paid with her card while I was I was in the restroom. When I got to the car she asked me if I had cash, to pay the tip because the server said they didn’t do tips when paying with a card. I asked what was the bill so I could determine the tip, and when she showed me the bill, it was sticker shock!!! They charged $28 for the 3 tacos and my friend ordered one marlin taco at $8.70. So even if your ordered ONE marlin taco at the price of $8.70 that would be $26.10 for the three and not $28. They charged us $2 for each water. The food was good, but not worth the almost $80 food bill. When I went back in to get change for tip, I informed the server that what the did wasn’t right at all. She responded that there were two different types of marlin tacos—I pointed out to her that I was looking at the menu in front of her and pointed to the ones as I was ordering. I also told her that in the state of California they are supposed to provide drinking water upon request and not charge us. She condescendingly asked if I wanted my $2 back. I will never step foot in that place again and I do not recommend. I should have not tipped her at all—but against my better judgement I did. I’ve attached a photo of the bill. First time and last, they overcharged for my order and they didn't had water to give as the state of California requires stablishments to offer for free the charged for Water. And Coktail campechano was not even out with seafood supposed have, it was more like...

This place is delicious,I think the people leaving their Rating,are talking about some other places. Beverages were aguas naturales the Mariscos tastes fresh. Service was great,we were served within 10 minutes. Will definitely return as well...
