While I appreciate this store adapting to continue accepting business during the pandemic I'm very sad to say that I was sold a faulty controller today. The controller that came with my system broke last night and I tried to find the cheapest replacement possible since money is not flowing at the moment. I was very disheartened to find that two essential buttons on the controller I purchased today, do not work. I contacted the store and was told I would not be able to return it anytime soon and that they did not know when they would I would be able to get me a refund. Furthermore they said the only option I had right now was that I would have to purchase the next model up from what I got and just wait until I could return the faulty one. The representative I spoke to also mentioned that this is not the first time this has been a problem during these times, which did not help the situation. I purchased through gamestop because I've always had respect for the company. I expressed to the employee I spoke to that paying over double because of their indiscretion was unsatisfactory and asked if they could at least offer me a discount. They said they would not do that. Also singled me out as I waited she didn’t ask for ANYONE Else’s ID. But Singled me OUT. This person needs retraining. Also when asked about it she was giving me excuses as to why she had to when the many many many many customers that went before me didn’t get asked at all. The customer next to us didn’t have a recipet and didn’t get asked at all. Also I was harassed by homeless man and when tryd to getting staff attention for help the employees did NOTHING. I visited this GameStop before Christmas to shop for my son and was disappointed by the experience. While they have a great product selection, the store was poorly managed. Only one associate was working the register, while another seemed to be there just to monitor customers but didn’t assist with the long line. I waited over 15 minutes to pay while the cashier had an extended personal conversation, leaving a dozen customers waiting.
It’s frustrating that during the busy holiday season, the store wasn’t better staffed or organized. This experience made me seriously consider shopping online or at other retailers like Target or Walmart. I won’t be returning to this location...
