I loved Catalanos. Had good food and my parents loved it - chosen spot for when we officially move to Seguin. But they told me about the horrible experience they had yesterday Friday 1-27-23 at around 3:30pm so this is to the disgusting server who seated them and made them feel like lower class. She was a young blonde and even saw them leave and said or reacted in no way. The place was empty and they sat at a table to only be moved by this individual without kindness or explanation at least to the very back -- I have NEVER seen a back area. I assumed they meant a patio but was told it was a small dingy looking room that had only 2 other people just sitting there. They were apparently moved to a break room for the employees it seems like?? They got up and left. They were embarrassed and completely disappointed by the lack of respect or attention provided by Catalanos. I despise throwing the racial accusation but I see absolutely no other reason for their treatment. Shame on you. They ended up eating at a big franchise that treated them with hospitality and a wonderful time when your small business could have done better given the lack of patrons at that moment. I am livid with you and we will never be back. We've told others great things about Catalanos but you can rest assured this will be told with emphasis. Disgusting. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
To add because if a response is left I doubt you'll come back to read my edited response-- I've noticed other negative reviews have received responses with lack of professionalism. But this is about service and not your food that seems to hurt your ego. As you stated in one response, it's not for everyone. Exactly. And that's why the reviews have been left because this is to share experiences and ratings. With the majority of your reviews being good, congratulations, you're blessed because the food really is good. But I would hope some accountability would be the least you could do in this situation as there is no excuse in the way one of your staff members treated my parents. I questioned them in detail before writing this. They are humble people and would have shrugged it off but felt the need to voice it to me. I would hope you will pay attention or at least question this young lady about...
Read moreFirst thing I wanna say is... People are just off their rocker with the things that cause them to give poor reviews.. "We had to wait 10-15 minutes!"... Yeah, but how was the food?..
"Who puts red onions on a pizza?"'.. Everybody, that's who.. Every time I have ever ordered onions on a pizza, it was red onions.. The reason being, pizza is a visual experience, too, and toppings, especially vegetables, are supposed to add color to the presentation.. Besides, if you don't like onion, why order it with onion?..
OK, on to my review.. We ordered pizza, chicken parm, and wings, and they were all very good.. I ordered to go, was told it would take 30 minutes, arrived 40 minutes later, and then waited 20 more minutes for the food to be done.. And you know what?... I don't care!.. The food was great, which is what's important, and the staff was nice, and chatted me up, and gave me a beverage for my wait..
Why do people have zero patience, these days?.. I'm 43 years old, was the last of 6 kids, and I can wait all day long if I need to.. Maybe people are used to being the little dictator their whole lives, cause their parents treated them like they were perfect, and never said no to them their entire lives, so they act like total jerks if they have to wait for 5 minutes for something?.. Or, God forbid, they ran out of calzone, or the minestrone soup, causing the obligatory tirade!..
Was the food good?.. Was the service acceptable?.. Then be happy.. And BTW, waiting an extra 5-10 minutes does not constitute bad service.. Most places will bend over backwards to make your wait as comfortable as possible, you should...
