Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Cicero

Immediately from the moment of walking in with my husband and 2 kids I felt as if we were intruding and bothering the employees. I ordered our food and was met with a distracted worker who couldn’t pay attention to what I was saying. I told the cashier 3 times what it was that we wanted. Distracted by the cell phone and other employees. Brought our food out with no drinks and no fries. Was brought our cups and told when I inquired about our fries that they were in the box. The sandwich box mind you. Then was told that they were coming. So we sat while the teenage employees played around and threw food at each other. Brought the fries out and yes they were warm, but they were the equivalent of a kids fry from McDonald’s. They forgot the extra gravy that I paid for that was for my kids meals. Both sandwich orders were wrong. Not sure how that was managed. Floors and tables were gross. We will never be back to this...

We just had a very disappointing experience at DQ. The person taking our order had to repeat things multiple times—it wasn’t clear whether she couldn’t hear us or if the system they’re using is just outdated. After placing our order at the drive-thru, we were asked to pull into a parking spot to wait. The wait itself was only about 3 minutes, which wasn’t bad, but when we got our food, my husband’s order was missing entirely.

The quality of the food was also subpar. What was supposed to be cheese curds looked more like a greasy clump of cheese. The chicken strip box was missing the gravy, the tenders were noticeably smaller than usual, and the fries were soggy and overly greasy. I posted a picture to show the size difference. Everything tasted like it had been cooked in old oil.

Unfortunately, this was the worst DQ experience we've ever had.

Positive note the Texas toast...

Terrible service, 6 ppl behind counter, 4 fooling around, throwing things at each other, 1 new just standing holding 1 of our items ordered not knowing what to do, 1 girl working drive up, got 4 of our 5 items, waiting for 5th and stood at counter while staff continued to horse around, ask for mgr, she was 1 of the 4, told her I was waiting for my order, told me she didn't know, i said if she would have asked if I needed anything bc I stood at counter for over 5 mins waiting as I was only 1 left at counter by this time and she said sorry, walked away and started laughing with the staff again. Girl working drive up made my last item. I'm all for having fun while you work but obviously she was there only to have fun. 3 other customers were complaining too. Next time I will drive to Noblesville...
