Subway — Restaurant in Cicero

The Cicero incarnation of the Subway sandwich chain is a mixed bag, in my view.

The food and prices are pretty standard Subway although they were out of nachos and a few other items.

The atmosphere is rather cramped but there were no other customers so that didn't affect us much. There were some jalapenos on the floor but otherwise, it was reasonably clean (except the restrooms: more later on that score).

The service was acceptable. Not friendly, not very courteous, but pretty fast. In a fast food place, it is what it is. (I hate when people say that, but I say it, too, sometimes. I am consistently inconsistent)

Pro Tip The restrooms were not clean and rather unpleasant to visit. This is a shame because in a surprisingly upscale town in terms of restaurants, Subway is a reasonable option. But, to quote the great Cookie Monster, himself, "Me no like...

An older Indian woman and young red head girl were working today. Not pleasant what so ever. Red haired girl hello, I say hello how are you. She gives me a blank stare and then rollsome her eyes and mutters something under her breath. The elder Lady is working on other sandwiches but the the red hair girl moves to the other end to finish for her the older Lady comes back. I've told her my meatime for my sandwich is in microwave she ignores and stares blankly at me wanting me to pick my veggies. I again point to microwave. She slaps the meat on the bread meshes the rest of my ingredients and mayo and mustard are oozing all over. As I unwrap my sandwich I'm getting it all over me. the bread is crushed and all. I have added a photo of it to the page. I will not be returning to this sub way. Wish I would have tried the coffee...

I ordered online and the app said my order would be ready by 12:25 p.m. I got there at 12:25 p.m. the app said it was ready for pickup. When I got inside one of the men working asked if I had a pick up order, I said yes. They hadn't even started on my order so I had to sit there an additional 25 minutes waiting for them to get it ready. As I sat there I looked around and noticed how filthy the place was the high chairs had about an inch of dust on them. The pickup cart where your order goes once it's ready for pickup was filthy with dust all over it. I will not be going back to...
