The place was originally a take out location, and now has a new location and dine in available. I love supporting black business, but sometime our own people do fall short. My aunt made reservations, and we came in this morning for our reservations and the hostess looked at a screen never even asked for a number or name and was just like your reservation must have been canceled and we only have bar seats available. The crazy part was the fact that the entire time we were at the bar it was well over three open tables available, and I wondered if those so called reservations were cancelled too. The hostess attitude was very off putting, and I simply had the thought she should probably not be working the door if she’s not even going to actually check reservations and automatically send people to sit at the bar. I understand that it was a busy weekend, but as with anything, black business can’t afford to not be 100 percent. My family and I came in at 10 am. The support and demand is there, but even still with this upgraded location it’s still too tiny to accommodate the warranted amount of support the restaurant is receiving especially branded as a new exciting hot spot. I would like them to actually consider adding vegan options, because it was quite odd that our waitress/bartender (Alayna or Aaliyah possibly her name) who was vegan couldn’t necessarily vouch for the menu but told us fan favorites. Our waitress/bartender was very accommodating and sweet though! And definitely soften some of the initial unfriendliness of the hostess at the door. The main thing for any restaurant is the food, and this was what will guarantee people coming back and actually giving the restaurant a second chance if the service and reservations need much needed work. The food gets a four out five stars, because it was seasoned and actually did taste good! The only drawback is the turkey bacon was completely overcooked and very much plastic like in texture. I got another order, but it was only slightly better which tells me that the cook just doesn’t know how to cook turkey bacon. Turkey bacon isn’t pork, so it’s cured meat so it not necessarily made to be fried to smithereens and inedible. I still recommend people to try it and support it, and perhaps avoid the weekend if possible. I can notice the difference from the takeout location when you were automatically greeted in the morning as soon as you entered through the door and given positive energy and thanked verses this one. Once the issues of service and space is addressed it can clearly be a five out of five. The food is great though, so definitely keep that up! Surprisingly, the potatoes were a shocking star and a wonderful unique spin on breakfast potatoes!

What a great start to my day, lovely historic venue with clean modern walls and a touch of feminine elegance. I love the chandelier when you enter and Floral features under the wall lighting along the banket. We we greeted warmly and promptly and seated to look over the delicious choices of the menu. The full bar on hand with custom cocktails and several different mimosas to choose from was tempting, but I opted for an iced caramel coffee with my friend got hot tea. My coffee was rich, sweet, and frothy while the tea was piping hot with a nice selection of teas to choose from. There were a ton of good things to choose, my friend got french toast with a choice of breakfast meats, the sausage patties were hot and juicy and nicely browned. The French toast was thick cut, soft and fluffy, eggs perfectly cooked, and my friend got a side of crispy bacon and the Cajun potato. The potatoes were crispy and seasoned, but not spicy, so if you don't do spicy keep them in mind. I got the Harrisburg hash, which comes either on the crispy seasoned potatoes, classic potatoes with peppers and onions, or their signature cheese grits. I opted for the grits this time, topped with fluffy scrambled eggs, seared corned beef, and even more gooey melted cheddar. The portion was enormous and stunning. Just amazing flavors and I had enough to take home for breakfast the next day. The staff was so friendly while giving us the space to chat and catch up. Loved the classic R&B sounds in the background to. They are cooking with Soul here, with a menu woven with nods to Southern cities. Outdoor seating was available as well on a patio. We didn't get a chance to try the "lunch" options but they serve them no matter how early you get there the Tuekey burger and fish sandwich were strong conteders for my meal. Maybe I'll get them next visit. They do extended happy hour on Friday brunch, and seems like a perfect way to start your weekend right or treat yourself and your coworkers to something to end the week.

From the moment I walked up to the bar, Shaniah made me feel welcomed and appreciated as a customer. Her energy was infectious, her smile genuine, and her professionalism unmatched. You could immediately tell she takes pride in her craft not just by the way she handles her tools and mixes drinks, but by the care she shows to every single guest. She made everyone at the bar feel like a regular, even if it was their first time there. Let’s talk about her customer service. Absolutely top tier. She was attentive without being overbearing, friendly without being fake, and somehow managed to keep track of multiple drink orders while holding great conversations with the crowd. Whether she was making cocktails during a rush or chatting one-on-one, she made every guest feel important and valued. Now for the drinks .. AMAZING. I’ve been to a lot of bars, and Shaniah’s mixology skills are on a whole different level. All my drinks tasted phenomenal. She doesn’t have alligator arms pouring the alcohol LOL. Whether it was a classic or a drink she made up when I couldn’t make up my mind lol (sorry) , every drink she made had perfect balance. You could tell she knows her flavors and loves what she does. She even asked about my preferences and tailored a drink just for me. I loved that as a customer ! On top of all that, Shaniah kept the vibe fun, classy, and upbeat the entire time I was there. Her knowledge, skills, and warm personality make her an absolute gem behind the bar.If you ever get the chance to be served by Shaniah take it. You won’t be disappointed. She’s the kind of bartender that keeps people...
