It honestly pains me to write this review because I/we love their Madisonville location - always a 5-star experience. We came here for Mother's Day and their 4-year anniversary. It was our first time at this location, but we decided to make the drive and give it a try due to the special menu - we live closer to the Madisonville location. I feel like people were just as friendly and the service just as good. The food was below their standard at the other location and I thought the portion/cost for the menu was sub-par. The porchetta was dry, the exterior was not crunchy like porchetta should be but leathery, and it was not filling - it did have decent flavor. The asparagus was cooked just right - not overcooked and still some snap. It was $19 for that plate pictured, not including a tip. I would have expected another slice? Or maybe add something else to go with it - like potatoes or bread. My father had the classic breakfast which was $16 and it looked quite a bit more filling. The rhubarb danish I had that day was also a little off. The custard was a bit eggy - both texture and flavor. Again, disappointing because items like their Pain aux Raisin and their Olive Oil Cake have been great. Coffee was still good, but I think we had expected ceramic ware like the other location. However, we understood the convenience of disposables given most people were outside and it was quite busy. Unfortunate experience here, but that won't deter us from frequenting Madisonville.

We were looking for a quick place in town to stop and grab some coffee and breakfast before heading back home after a Green Day concert, and we couldn't have chosen better! We both got iced coffees, and then I got a Dirty Nati Egg Samich, my boyfriend got the Almond Butter & Banana Toastie, and we shared a snickerdoodle and a vanilla bean "cruffin." The breakfast sandwich was absolutely amazing- possibly the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. 100/10 recommend and would definitely go back just to get that a second time when we're in town again. We'd never heard of a cruffin, but that tasted even better than it looked. Coffees were good (I got a iced vanilla latte with honey, and my boyfriend got an iced honey latte) but definitely tasted like coffee- not a bad thing by any means, but I'll be the first to admit that I tend to prefer my coffee on the sweeter side, lol. The atmosphere is really neat being that the cafe was inside of a house and it just feels so cozy. Lots of people there that appeared to be studying or WFH. We ordered for take out but ended up staying and eating outside. Overall, definitely recommend and will absolutely go back!

Very pricey with small portions. Our drinks looked like sample sizes. Two hot beverages and 2 muffins came to almost $30. One of the employees we interacted with was polite & friendly so that was nice at least!

Edited to respond to the shop's reply:

Yes I was there, not in the wrong place as you suggested. I'm sorry, they were cruffins, a form of a muffin. That's awesome you pay what you think is a good wage! I'm happy to hear that. It is an important part of what motivates me to pay premium prices at small local businesses. But the overall quality for the price is still subpar from this customer's view point. I can't compare my experience there to Starbucks as I don't go there. But I do frequent many small businesses, particularly coffee places. I'd have to say Just Brew in Silverton has a similar menu, sans the alcohol, as well as Lookout Joe's in Mt. Lookout. They have a fair portion for the price in the products they offer. They use local & above average ingredients as well when they can, I believe. Dangerbird also has good value for their products. I'm sorry I don't have a receipt but after tipping it was just over $30. Two hot drinks, no extras (a chai latte & I think a regular latte) and two CRuffins. We took it to go, but the dine in areas looked clean & trendy! Thanks for your response despite the slightly condescending tone. I'm glad what you're doing within your business is working for you. I'm just sharing a valid review of your establishment based on many other experiences I've had at similar places, no bad feelings. I wish you continued success within your...

I tried this coffee shop for the first time today because I was looking for one on the way to a gig, and was not disappointed!

Extremely relaxed atmosphere with plenty of space both inside and outside. I initially thought the inside was just a small ordering area with some seats, which was a nice space as it is, but then rounded the corner and found 3 other spaces inside, which was a cool surprise 🙂.

There's plenty of cozy seating areas and the music selection was really great with a lot of music I haven't heard in a long time! 😍 In addition, the people working there were wonderfully pleasant 🤗.

Some of the food and drinks were higher priced than I'd typically pay, but definitely worth the price! The flavors of everything I had were delightful and delicious ❤️😌. And on top of that, they had a huge variety of items to choose from, which is always a bonus in my mind.

The only thing that was a little difficult was finding parking in the area but obviously that's less outside of their control, and I just had to walk a little further so even with that, not too big a deal.

I would definitely recommend checking out this spot if you...
