Parkside came to our neighborhood a couple of years ago and has quickly become our go-to spot in Hyde Park Square. It has it all: reasonably priced food, kids' menu, great draft beer, cocktails, a nice patio, and wonderful staff. If you've been to their sister restaurant, Delwood, expect pretty much the same experience here, but with a completely different menu, which is great! For starters, we almost always order the dip duo, which includes both their guacamole and pimento cheese dip, served with corn tortilla chips ($12). I love the pimento cheese dip and could order that alone ($10), but for $2 more, throw in the guacamole too! Another great appetizer is the Buffalo Chicken Egg Rolls, featuring pulled chicken, mozzarella, pepperoni, zucchini, Crystal Hot Sauce, and blue cheese crumble ($6 each). Also, the Parkside chopped salad is nice to split as either an appetizer or a side. It combines romaine, tomato, red onion, avocado, roasted chickpeas, goat cheese, and honey dijon vinaigrette ($7 half). There are three items on the main menu that I rotate between. The grilled chicken sandwich is a Peruvian marinated chargrilled chicken breast topped with roasted garlic aioli, white cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and onion ($15). This is probably my most ordered. I also really like the veggie burger, which is a falafel patty topped the same as the chicken sandwich ($13). If you like falafel, definitely give this a try. I also order the boneless wings from time to time, which is a rather large portion of hand-battered chicken ($15). Don't forget to wash it all down with a Three Floyds Zombie Dust pale ale, which is always on tap ($7).

First time trying Parkside this past weekend, and I was very pleased. The outdoor seating is perfect for nice weather, they have large umbrellas to shade the sun, and comfy couches if drinks and appetizers are more your vibe. We tried a few of the appetizers as well as the fish tacos and overall the food was an 7/10. The dip was the best thing we tried, especially the pimento dip!! I would definitely recommend this and orderinf for a table to share as an appetizer! We also tried the buffalo egg rolls and these were great as well. If you dont like spicy, avoid the sauce they come with. The empanadas on the other hand, were not so pleasant. They looked so good on the outside, but they lacked any flavor and tasted almost like dog food. We could barely finish one because they were just very unedible. I dont recommend the empanadas at all. Lastly, we tried the fish tacos and fries and both were very good! I enjoyed the sauce the fries came in! Overall, Parkside is a super cute new restaurant that I will definitely be coming back to. The outside seating is just so nice and the pimento dip, so good!

Great atmosphere and they made excellent use of the space. Our group ordered a variety of food and shared, can’t speak highly enough of the Jimbo margarita, the Old Fashioned, the Pimento Grilled Chicken sandwich, the fish tacos and the guacamole. You’ve got to try this place if you haven’t yet - not too fancy and better than casual. Would give 6 stars if I could!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Rarely write reviews until I'm sure. I have visited Parkside multiple times since they opened. Sometimes with a family member/s, or takeout, but usually alone at the bar for a quick bite and a drink or two. It always felt like a needed addition to Hyde Park Square but lately the experience has been lackluster, at best. I have become familiar with some of the staff, shout out to Lauren for always being both professional and personable. BUT I have noticed the white customers are spoken to differently, problems addressed expeditiously, etc. I always put my card down before I am presented a check, always tip at least 20%, no matter any issues (some are expected, no restaurant is perfect). I have increasingly felt unwelcomed, my orders not prepared as I requested and no one has "noticed" whole plates of food gone uneaten. Yes, I could say something but that would cause more problems. I am Black, if you know, you know. If you don't, (think money spent, still hungry and police called). Today, I ordered boneless wings(well done), shoestring fries and a burger for myself and my daughter. I did ask for new wings but they were limp and luke warm, as the were original fries (did not ask for new). Server offered new wings but they were the same. We did not eat but paid our entire check and left. Will not be back to Parkside or Delwood or Guardia. I don't ever want to feel my experience is different because I'm Black and I hope this helps anyone else from feeling this. Every customer deserves the experience these restaurants...

I've lived across the street for two years now. Parkside opened roughly a year ago with great enthusiasm. Almost immediately the place was packed with a constant stream of people dining, drinking, hanging out on the patio etc.

The food is as great as it gets with a delish cheese burger (try the pimento), guacamole, buffalo spring rolls, & even the salads. The staff are service industry elites who are use to a high volume & high energy place Parkside has achieved. The atmosphere is like a busy neighborhood hangout. People bring their dogs and kids to the patio, everyone talks amongst groups, while the inside offers a cozier more calm traditional restaurant area.

On the bar & drinks... Even if you're just there to down a few pints or cocktails after work or there to make some new friends, you never feel like 2nd priority. The bartenders and staff are friendly and efficient and while I personally would like a wider variety of wines, Parkside gets high remarks with choice selection of glass pours, a wide variety of beers, & a exquisitely constructed cocktail menu.

Sadly, I depart the neighborhood next week but Parkside has become a staple of what every place should desire to achieve in Hyde...
