I grew up in Price Hill in the 80's and 90's I moved away . I was in the neighborhood Saturday 03/21/2015 and decided to visit Price Hill Chili a place I used to love to go to when I was growing up there. My partner and I were greated and sat in a closed section right in the path of the servers quarters , The Waitress was not pleased to see us and not unfriendly but not concerned with our service either. We both ordered 4 ways and a cheese coney . The chili was luke warm and the noodles were even colder barely any cheese and I mean barely any , I ate a few bites and spit out plenty of grissel and fat . I could not eat anymore . I said quite loudly that the chili is not like it used to be so the waitress cold hear me she was at the next table cleaning it . She did'nt ask if i wanted anything else to replace the chili clearly i had a plate full of food and a cheese cony sitting there afetr we had been there for over 30 min with food in front of us. at the end she asked how is everything I said its kinda ok in a disappointed voice. she asked if we were ready for our check instead of asking me if iI would like something else . She brings the check and I pay , didn't ask if I want a box for my Uneaten meal that I am paying for. she takes my card and comes back standing at the table until I sign and write in the tip infont of her , still I left here a $5.00 tip thinking she could probably use it . still no offer of a box or anything else. she sits at the table right next to us and counts here money to close out and go home . I had to ask a random young man who may have been a busser to get me some boxes for the food I took home and eventually threw away anyway. BAD SERVICE , BAD FOOD . I am so disappointed I used to love that place it is in my blood to love that place so many memories and than...
Read moreSo disappointing!!! We ordered food to pickup. I know when you pickup you aren't going to have the quality that you would if dining in. Cold food wasn't the problem, what we ordered was so awful my kids complained. We ordered a grilled chicken entree that looked and tasted like it was boiled. Home fries had hard pieces of potatoes in them. I ordered spinach dip and they gave me chips that looked like they were poured from a dollar tree bag. I'm not even sure how you mess up a cheeseburger besides undercooking I guess but it was awful. It was clear whomever cooked this shouldn't have been behind the grill at any point. When I contacted the manager the next day letting him know what our experience was like he said"we have never had complaints like this I find that hard to believe but I will check into this." I explained about this chips they gave me with the spinach dip he said we don't use round chips. Well, you must have ran out of the good kind and gave me the spare. I spent 44.00 with gratuity on food that should have never left that kitchen. The manager never offered to make it right, never offered anything but an apology and a little skeptism that this was hard to believe. I live nowhere close to this place I was just in the area and thought it was worth a try what a huge mistake!! I just felt like I could offer some insight on anyone who is thinking about eating at this restaurant, there are too many good places to eat, don't waste your money on this...
Read moreI was born in another state and grew up on the East Side of Cincinnati, but relocated to the West Side as my home base over a decade ago. I'm lucky to have gotten to experience many places. Price Hill Chili might just be about my favorite here locally. There's always something for everyone from toddler up to age 100+, and I believe it's cooked from the heart. Don't expect fancy, because that's not what they are about, and their prices reflect it. They are family, and use real foods and real ingredients, and treat their employees with respect.
Show up here with with kids in tow, no problem. Show up with your Veteran Grandpa or Father, no problem. Show up with your Mom and your niece, no problem. Show up with a group of friends, no problem. Show up stinking to high heaven because you just did ten miles, no problem. Show up full hair and makeup, no problem. Show up because you want to watch sports with other sports fans, no problem. Show up alone, and you'll find some friends and family. Show up with an attitude and treat staff or other guests poorly, and they will show you the door.
Their cheese coneys are wonderful as is everything I've tried there over the years. If it's just me, I will order their Greek salad with Salmon (or without) or Mega Greek Omelet.
Others will always try to imitate the best or recreate something with their gimmicks and they will never last. This restaurant is truly an original, and that's why it has stood the...
