HOKKAIDO Chinese & Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Circleville

We decided to try Hokkaido for a new Chinese option and were pleasantly surprised by the taste, customer service, and overall quality of this restaurant. Keeping in mind there are only 3 booths to sit at, this is an awesome carry out/delivery restaurant. Our first experience was on 22SEP22 at 5:55pm. We ordered online and stuck with something familiar, General Tso Chicken. It comes with a side of rice (white, fried, pork fried, etc.) and a roll (egg or veg). Each order was enough for 2 people so we had left-overs. We ordered again on 24SEP22 at 1:50pm but this time we chose the vegetable Lo Mein, pork fried rice, Honey Chicken, white rice, and Eel sauce. The vegetable Lo Mein was Fantastic! Fresh, crisp carrots and broccoli and well seasoned noodles. I loved the Honey sesame chicken but my son prefers it crispy so he liked the taste but not the texture. We were so impressed by our second trip we made a third trip at 8:20pm! This time it was Vegetable Chow Mein with egg added, General Tso's Chicken combo (egg roll and white rice), and for dessert Sugar Donuts (10 for $5.99). The Chow Mein had crisp fresh carrots, leeks, and broccoli, with thin noodles, mushrooms and lightly seasoned... perfect! The General Tso's Chicken was once again amazing! I rarely do reviews of restaurants, especially those in Circleville, but Hokkaido is the best kept secret of Circleville and I want to make sure we support this small restaurant that provides such quality food compared to ANY other restaurant in town....

If you have any concerns about COVID or no contact delivery due to illness or preventing illness, please choose another restaurant. I provided specific no contact instructions stressing the importance of this and paid with a good tip in advance. The delivery person stood and waited at my door even after several minutes of me waiting for him to leave. I answered the door and told him I requested no contact, he held my food standing there, still not leaving it or giving it to me and asking if I already paid. I hope this was a one time miscommunication, but the receipt stapled to my bag clearly had the info on it. Disappointing for someone ill and...

Today was my first time coming to this place and I was very disappointed. I just paid $17 for a side of fried rice and a chicken and steak dinner meal, which is a lot more expensive than other similar restaurants but I was originally okay with that until I realized how small the portion sizes were. It would not have been enough to fill me up even if I could’ve ate it all but i couldn’t even eat it because of the lack of flavor even after adding extra sauce. Not to mention, the chicken and steak were bad quality. The customer service was okay and yum yum sauce was excellent but I will not be returning due to the quality and price...
