Thirsty Parrot — Restaurant in Circleville

The number of stars that I give a restaurant represents the quality of the whole experience, not how fancy the place is. That said, it's a local neighborhood bar / grill but don't pass on this place. Service was friendly, helpful and very efficient. Atmosphere had a Jimmy Buffett vibe and my wife liked the background music (country). An older place but clean. But the star of the show was the food. First, they have a really good menu and options to choose from. It looks like they're known for their Bourbon Chicken. I had the Gyro (spicy, with the traditional gyro meat). I went with the larger, 1/2 of meat size, $9 (the 1/4 lb option is $7). It came stuffed with toppings and tasty Tizatziki sauce. The spice came from a siracha sauce on the meat, it was really good. Next time I'll have to try the "naked" option. My wife had a 1/4 pound cheeseburger, for $5. She loved it. We also ordered an order of fries, and waffle fries (with cheese). Both were excellent, they even provide you with a spray bottle of vinegar for those that like that. We do. My coworker and I work out of town a lot and we found the thirsty parrot more by accident as we googled what to eat near the school we were working on. Once arrived everyone was overly sweet even the customers the server was very nice to let me sample the bourbon chicken to make sure I liked it which resulted in me buying 3big orders as it was the best I have had since I lived in Maryland!! Came here based on reviews of saying the bourbon chicken is the best. The bourbon chicken is actually one of the worst I’ve personally ever had. Which I hate to say that because i hoped to find a place closer to home that actually had a good bourbon chicken. The Rueben egg rolls were pretty good but way overpriced for what they were.
