Went in today and had a very uncomfortable encounter with one of the staff members. I was ordering my bowl, and when I got to toppings, I asked for pita strips. The girl behind the counter reached into a nearly empty canister and put crumbs on my bowl then said ā€œthis is all we have for nowā€ and pushed my bowl to the register. Mind you, one of the back of house staff just put fresh pita strips on the counter. I asked the cashier if I could please have some more pita strips, she then asked the girl at the toppings area to put a bit more on my bowl (she grabbed the new ones prior, never offered them to me even though I was still standing there) Then she proceeds to say ā€œI don’t want to do toppings anymore!!!ā€ In a frustrated tone, and ended up putting the strips on the wrong bowl which belonged to the customer behind me who was gluten free. I’m sorry, but if I’m kindly asking for something I am paying for as the customer, and you are having a crappy day and don’t like your job, you should probs let just clock out! I felt so awkward leaving there. She made sure to let me and the store know she was irritated. I felt bad for the cashier having to work with that.

I understand this location is new but obviously there is a discrepancy in how the workers charge. My first ever experience at Cava was amazing.. it was all new to me so I decided on just a kid’s size pita (built my own, with harissa chicken & avocado on the size) and pita chips, all for $7.04. The harissa chicken with the garlic sauce was soooo yummy! I raved about it. Cut to my second visit, I decided since I loved it so much the first time, I would get the exact same thing.. just a whole pita (yes, again with harissa chicken & avocado on the side) … really the only 2 toppings aside from lettuce and tomato & again, with pita chips. Honestly, not a thing different… but to my surprise I was charged $18.17. I questioned this to the manager, that I could have gotten 2 kids size meals & actually 2 pita chips then for less?? This was over double my last meal… she really couldn’t explain the price and just said if ordering it the kids way was cheaper, do that next time. Also disappointed that when I mentioned it was my first & second visit… no one had ever mentioned their rewards program. So that’s 2 visits I’m out rewards :(

I love that I don't have to go to the SoHo location because this CAVA is so close to home. Plus, the Team Members and Management really know how to make you feel at home anyway. So, I don't mind skipping cooking at home and grabbing lunch or dinner from the Carrollwood CAVA a few times a week. There are so many menu options, so you can never get bored. Personally, I love spicy food. If you are like me, the Spicy Chicken Pita is THE WAY to go! I don't get it with the Balsamic Date Vinaigrette it comes with though. I prefer it with the Harissa Vinaigrette & Garlic dressing. I would also HIGHLY recommend mixing the house made juices. I love mixing the sweet tea w/ cucumber mint lime. I'm from NY and it reminds me of the canned Half & Half iced teas, just healthier. DONOT FORGET, pita chips and dip! Crazy feta is to DIE FOR! I love dining in. But takeout or delivery is always a wave too.

This place is usually the bomb. Not tonight! We eat here 2-3 times a week and we were very disappointed in the service tonight about 730. There were plenty of people working there, or should I say "should have been working." We walked in when there was 1 lady reading a few orders off her phone. Two people behind us. Someone went along and filled the order of the lady in front of me, slowly, then there was some confusion at the register with her order. Our bowls were not started until her bowls were by the veggies, even though there were 2 people who could have started them. Finally someone scooped the rice, and then another girl put the 3 scoops in and she placed our bowls near the veggies to be completed even though there was not anyone there to do the veggies and stood there waiting on the next order that could be scooped. Our bowls sat there and sat there waiting for toppings as the cashier was trying to complete the transaction of the lady in front of us. The folks behind us had not started to order, however the girl that added the 3 scoops just stood there forever doing nothing and a guy went in the kitchen and back out looking at the dressings, then stared into space as our bowls still sat getting cold waiting for toppings. Neither of those 2 were doing a thing. I guess they didn't hear me loudly sighing either because I finally asked the guy by the salad dressings if he could finish our bowls. He said "yeah ima get right on at" . Seriously ridiculous and I turned around and look and the line was back to the door. The ice was also empty in the machine. I had to ask for that to be filled. To his defense he did that fairly quickly. Unless the scoop girl was told not to touch the vegetables, she or the other guy should have looked around and taken the initiative to help customers by filling their orders in a reasonable time and not let them stand there for 20 min. The dinner was good...

I’m a regular! A few days ago went with a group of friends to CAVA because they were visiting and wanted to try something different. We arrived at 8:30pm to be exact and got my service ar 9:20pm because they were out of meat balls. I asked Karla how long does spicy lamb meatballs take she said 17 minutes! And she was extremely rude when i said there’s a few of us that are ordering more than one portion. She asked Luis the grill cook and he got upset my question is why when we are buying and. Also at 8:30pm they were out of white rice and i do understand they close at 10pm but two if my friends they cannot eat wheat! Which brown rice is base on wheat! We got the service then Nate one of the servers was rude doing the pitas ā€œclapping the pitasā€ when i asked to spread it he got mad! Again my question why! Then the other young lady Lissette or Lisbeth don’t remember right was her name was touching her hair with gloves on and serving food like where’s your hair net which no one had a hair net! We asked for a manager and they seem to ignore because she was busy! Again why when people are trying to have a good experience there’s incompetent employees providing a horrible service not just that my pita inside the bag was opened and the food the filling inside the bag. Also they tried to serve ya cold and overcooked pita chips! Not just us but also the people that ordered online food where frustrated because of the bad service and no food available. Won’t be back at...

I hate to even say it, but it’s the truth, this location is consistently one of the worst I’ve ever ordered from. I get that mistakes happen but I order delivery multiple times a week and understand things aren’t always perfect so I don’t have unrealistic expectations. But every single time I order from this specific CAVA, it’s always missing key items and it always takes a ridiculous amount of time.

What makes it worse is that this isn’t just a delivery issue. When I’ve gone in person, I’ve had equally disappointing experiences. The staff don’t acknowledge customers walking in. I’m not expecting fine dining treatment, but a simple ā€œhelloā€ or eye contact while someone restocks food and I wait in silence for several minutes isn’t asking much. Especially when there’s not many people in the store and i’m the only person standing in line… at that point it’s just straight up being rude.

Unfortunately, this location seems to be run by people who either don’t care or haven’t been trained to value basic customer interaction. It’s frustrating, especially considering how much I enjoy CAVA as a brand. I just wish this location lived up to the standard. Instead it’s like it’s run by the Patricks and Squidwards of the Krusty Krab which should just be embarrassing to whoever owns this location.

I’ve ordered my last meal from this store, Uber is terrible with refunds and I’m tired of wasting money. No offence but it’s literally not hard to put food...
