I really wish I could have tried the food. But I just couldn’t bring myself to it. The restaurant is disgusting. I mean super dirty. The floor had trash, food, spilled drink all over it. I sat at my table for a good 20 minutes just to make the decision of whether I should stay and just tough it out or leave. I just sat there and watched as staff completely ignored the mess all around FOH. Then I looked under the tables, all of the tables I saw had caked on grime. Then I went to the bathroom and in the hallway was boxes and boxes of food packaging supplies, some boxes were opened and I got grossed out knowing the food packaging is piled up in front of the restrooms in a dirty filthy FOH. There’s no excuse for how unclean the FOH is. Busy or not. Then I sat back down and looked at the utensil holder on the table...just like the bottoms of the table, the utensils holder had grime and filth. And I just couldn’t eat there at this point. For the grime on the tables, floors, chairs and utensil holders to become thick and sticky looking that means they do not properly deep clean the FOH, if ever at all. That was not simply after rush mess. That was days upon days of not cleaning. Maybe they are just too busy to properly clean. But that’s why I had to assess whether to eat there and I took a good long while to think about it. And there was literally trash and food on the floor that the staff just kept walking past and ignoring. And it was a packed restaurant so obviously for some the taste outweighs the cleanliness. But if this how the FOH is treated, I can imagine the kitchen. The servers had dirty looking clothes too. If you read my reviews I typically give really good ratings. I appreciate small business and people who work hard in hospitality. I’m not too hard to please because I’m an appreciative person by nature. But this was the first time I have ever ever walked out of a restaurant because I was disgusted. A dive bar is cleaner. It seriously looked like there was a food fight and no one bothered to clean it up. I think there needs to be a health inspection here. It would do them good to close for a few days and hire a third party to deep clean. Especially if the food is as good as everyone says it is. But at this point there is a legitimate health hazard here....
Read moreSaigon Deli isn't just a restaurant; it's a vibrant, delicious, and incredibly authentic escape! My husband and I were craving pho, and we stumbled upon this absolute gem – and it has officially become one of our top favorite spots.
From the moment you step inside, you know you've found something special. It's the quintessential "hole-in-the-wall" eatery, with no pretense, just the comforting sights of incredible food, smiling staff, and happy customers. The bustling atmosphere instantly transports you to Vietnam, a truly immersive experience. Finding a seat can be a friendly challenge, a testament to its popularity, but even if you have to wait a moment, it's worth it. They even offer outdoor seating for those warmer days.
The three-page menu is wonderfully simple, and the prices? Unbeatable. Seriously. We're talking Banh Mis for a mere $5.50, pho for just $12, and every other entree capped at a maximum of $13! The portions are also incredibly generous; every plate coming out of the kitchen was piled high with deliciousness.
I dove into the Special Pho Soup with beef, brisket, meatball, tendon, and tripe, while my husband opted for the Spicy Bun Noodle Soup with beef, pork, and tendon. Both bowls were bursting with incredible, complex flavors – so rich and delicious that we practically downed them, despite the massive size. We definitely struggled to finish, but in the best way possible! We rounded off our fantastic meal with two perfectly refreshing taro bobas for $5 each.

Read moreService and quality went down noticeably maybe because of prejudice. We were ordering to go, ordered a banh mi - their most popular, just wanted an egg added, a wonton soup, 1 iced coffee and another already made drink on display. My friend came in minutes later and another customer came in after her and they both order banh mi to go, one of them order three banh mi and all got theirs in less than 5 mins. I inquired if ours were about done too and the answer was 20 mins for the sandwich to be done. At least get me the already made drink. After waiting for a little bit more, we had to leave, I just want to adjust my order to something quicker but Larry didn't even bother to hear or offer something quicker and instead just told me I can leave. I don't know what happen, prior to the pandemic I had given rave reviews and told many friends to go to Saigon Deli. Lately, I noticed the quality went down which I was okay with. But I can't be okay with this type of service. At least say sorry. I thought it might've been an off day but it's not and my friend suggest it might be a prejudice thing. This friend report that on a different day, another Chinese man was treated similarly when she (not Chinese) had no problem. Honestly I want to give a 1 star but I'm leaving with 2 because I do hope it was an off day and not anything to...
