I had to continuously explain small details That’s required a yes or no from whoever was working the phone . If you’re going to do business in this country respectfully , you should be able to clearly communicate in the native language especially servicing the natives of this land the bag broke as soon as i went to open it which makes it cheap quality the “VEGAN FOOD “ they claim To make actually had small bone cartilage and small pieces of meat in it . I called to confirm everything was vegan. the Edaikaikong soup was advertised and communicated to be vegan online , on Grubhub and their website and the person working the phones even said it was . It isn’t . I bit on a really hard piece of what seemed to be , bone cartilage and i have evidence . The sound was so loud my husband asked me was i okay , what was that extremely loud sound when i was chewing . He’s actually in the bathroom now extremely sick as we practice Ramadan and tried supporting a local business . Now i see the shadiness and scam and the environment and staff truly reflects that even after our patience with our food being late . How dare you disrespect our dietary restrictions and guidelines and religious values? I will definitely be reporting you to the proper authorities and even looking into the legalities of this because i too am not feeling well . I am truly tired of these so called businesses especially of people who aren’t native of this country trying to get over on the native people and not practicing good business . It has nothing to do with being disrespectful on my end honest to god i have been trying to even research how To cook it myself to incorporate in my everyday but i am noticing a common trend . All we wanted was to support and experience a piece of what your culture had to bring but this is how you represent ? I do not mind saying all this face to face as well . Looking through these reviews is too disgraceful . Karma doesn’t...
Read moreOk so March 1 is my birthday so hubby came up from the city to take me out to dinner. I picked Keobi cause I wanted to try African food for the first try. I read the reviews and it said a long wait time. I don’t like to wait for nothing. However I wanted to try African food for my birthday. So I prepared my hubby and we watched the Yankees game while waiting for our food they have a television in the restaurant. The place is clean a little cold from the doors opening and closing from the customers. I noticed that people where picking up and Grub hub was picking up as well so people know about the long wait time. When we got the food it was very Elegantly looking dishes. Hubby wanted his sauce on the side not on his fish but he knows to tell em for the next time but he ate everything. The yams with shrimp are so good. There oxtails taste better then Jamican oxtails very tender but not quite falling off the bones. The jollp rice was good a tiny bit to spicy for my liking but still good. I felt like someone had cooked me a home cooked meal and you can’t rush that. Fine wine takes time and fine food also takes time. I give them a 4 because there is room for improvement with the restaurant. There should be pictures so that the customers can see what their getting. The wait time should be told to the customers. I am a food Critic and I say 5 stars for food and 3 stars...
Read moreKeobi was subpar at best. Three stars across the board for everything; it could’ve been much worse.
We arrived as a group to celebrate a special occasion; the host paid a service fee to have our food ready earlier than operating hours but it was not. The beers were not cold nor was the restaurant set up to accommodate our large party. I can not speak on every dish that we had for our lunch since I didn’t eat everything but the meats (beef suya, fried chicken) were hard and seemingly over cooked. The rice (fried rice, jollof) was hard and the swallows were gummy. Spice level in the dishes…very faint. Not to mention, we were given paper plates and plastic cutlery to eat the over cooked meats with. There was no communication nor an apology for the service that we received. We had to wait for at least an hour before the food came out which then put us in the timeframe of the restaurant’s opening hour. Inside was warm and uncomfortable because the air was not on. The staff didn’t even bother to turn on music to at least set the ambiance while we patiently waited. It wasn’t a good experience for me and several of the people at the lunch.
This was my first time visiting Keobi. Although I’m not from the area, if I do return, I’ll give them another chance. Maybe it’ll be a better delivery when the focus is on...
