Ok so this was a very strange visit. Ok so we bought a cpl large pies with extra cheese about two weeks ago. The pizza was burnt and there wasn't much cheese on the pizza. I called back to complain about this, and I was told next time I'm in Auburn, they'll be more than happy to replace those for me. I thought ok that's great customer service. They realized they screwed up and wanted to make it right.
So today we were in Auburn and decided to go ahead and get those replacement pizzas. I called, spoke to the Manager and he said ok those will be ready In 20 minutes. All seemed fine up until that point.
So after about 30 minutes my wife goes in to pick up the pizzas and is told by the Manager not to come there anymore and to take our business out of town. WHAT?? My wife told me this and I immediately called the Manager. I explained to him that If there was a problem I would be more than happy to just pay for the pizzas. No big deal.
He gave a big speech to me on we're not the type of customers he wants and he doesn't want us as customers any more. He's been in the business for over 25 yrs and ... Anyhow he refused to allow me to even return or pay for the pizza's and said just keep them as a gift. The little kids ate it and enjoyed the pizza. It's actually a decent pizza when made right.
Anyway,I'm leaving 2 stars because the Manager did replace the pizza's and they were actually decent . Sauce was good but a bit salty and a bit too thick. Cheese had good flavor and tasted like a quality cheese. Crust was thin and had good flavor. Could have been a bit crispier but still good.
Listen, me being part Italian American that grew up in an Italian neighborhood in the Bronx many years ago, I know my pizza. Back then these people's hearts and souls went into those pizza's. If there was a mistake and If it wasn't made right and you complained, they made it right. They took pride in their work and would do anything to keep you as a customer. They would never ban someone for complaining about an accidently poorly made pizza.
Maybe I caught the Manager on a bad day? Either way that's unfortunate because he lost some really good customers all because he couldn't handle a little bit of criticism. Anyhow, would I recommend this place? Sure ,it's better than Domino's. But if you get a bad pizza, expect to get banned if...
Read moreI come to this pizza shop religiously, and I absolutely love the pizza and usually have amazing service here.
But tonight, I was made to feel like I was a thief. I walked in to have a dinner with my five year old. We went in to get slices. Told them I would like one slice of cheese and one slice of pepperoni and two breadsticks and one water bottle. We checked out and the total was $12 and some change. I paid thinking nothing of it, then went outside and we only had two slices of cheese and the bottle of water. I went inside and just asked if we could have a slice of pepperoni since my daughter loves that and that’s what I asked for. My pepperoni was still in the oven and they gave us the slice and I asked if they wanted the regular cheese back and the worker said no we are fine and can keep it. I walked back outside to enjoy our dinner and then realized, wait we didn’t get our breadsticks. So I went back inside again, and very nicely said we did not get our two bread sticks. The worker at register was fine and said oh I didn’t know you got breadsticks, but gave them to me anyways. I walked back outside again to eat my dinner , and I hear all of the workers loudly talking about me and how she didn’t hear me order the breadsticks multiple times, and I didn’t pay. I went in AGAIN and said and repeated everything I originally ordered and said I want to make sure I paid for everything and didn’t pay for something I received because I am not that type of person to get free stuff. The owner(I believe it is, the older Italian man), comes over to register and was VERY rude and raising voice in front of everyone at resteraunt at me saying no you got 4 slices of pizza!!! I said no I did not. Again, they only originally gave me two slices of plain pizza and a water and the total was $12. The owner then starts to press very loudly as he was typing in my total to see the price of what he “thought” I guess, he kept saying I got 4 slices when I literally only ordered two, and repeatedly said I underpaid. I said I would pay for what I didn’t apparently pay for, as literally it was ALL a misunderstanding and the worker not hearing me.
Again, I love this place usually and have spent a lot of money on pizza but the way I was treated was not right at all and super...
Read moreIt took me four times to convince my partner to stop here for a slice while we were walking around the strip mall. Seemed and smelled like legit NYC style pizza. Really wish I hadn't.. The young girl who took our order of one plain slice was nice and courteous (poor her), but the older girl at the register was absolutely MISERABLE. My partner told her to keep the change for her slice (several dollars) and was met with a grimace and "...you sure?" as she stuffed it in the tip jar. Okay, so we don't say "thank you" here.. cool. We then watched her rudely and reluctantly take an order from a father and his young son for three fresh slices of pepperoni.. they said they were fine with waiting, but she wanted to push the old, shriveled slices on them. When our slice was ready, miserable cashier shoved the slice across the counter and didn't say a word. Wow. We don't care how good the pizza is (btw, nothing to write home about).. not supporting a place with...
