Even with my odd eyes squinted behind shades I was blinded by the sun beautifully failing to warm up the young brisk morning air in Batavia NY. My short psychedelic journey the night prior had come to an end and I was in need of caffeine like a fiend like a sin. Google fingers worked accordingly and pointed me towards thee (drum roll) …Pub Coffee Hub! (Horns playing).
Located on the bottom floor of a warehousey industrial looking building thingy …I knew this cafe would have character. Walking up it is easy to miss the entrance best described as a discreet but vibrant green door which opens up with a mild creak. The initial view introduces you to a new dimension opening up into a new realm. Green and black colors are clearly a thing. Slight funk and individuality ooze from the interior design language. There is so much green in this place that they wouldn’t even have to decorate to win “Best in Show” at the local St. Patty’s Day parade. So much green that they have a neighborhood dog named Snoop as a regular. Anyway…I ordered from an entertaining menu and went with a simple small dark roast and a tasty sounding burrito named with an acronym.
The coffee was better than average and got better with each sip. Do the math. The burrito arrived (looking plain like burritos do) but was very alive on the inside. The diced eggs…the cheddar…that salsa and them jalapeños all came together harmoniously in my mouth. I give it the nod. There’s so much to do and observe inside this quirky lil place. From the old vinyl record collection to the table top art show place mats…there is always something to mentally play around with. (Next time try the smoothies…I whisper to myself). I spent a while inside but not long enough to blow my cover as the coolest reviewer breathing. There’s oh so much more to explore at the Pub Coffee Hub. Somethin to look forward to during my next visit. Speaking of that…Whenever you find yourself in Batavia this should be an early stop because you can easily lose track of time here. And that’s ok.

Read morePub Coffee Hub is unapologetically the BEST coffee shop in Batavia/Genesee County. I have been a fan of theirs since they opened in 2020, and I continue to be impressed by the quality they provide in every aspect of their business. From the quality of their products, to their customer service - everything they do is done with excellence. If there is ever an issue, or concern, they are very willing to accommodate and make your experience with them as positive as possible. Rob, and his team, offer friendly & outstanding service. It is evident that Rob leads his staff by example, as he is always welcoming and goes above and beyond for his customers.
I have loved every item I've ever ordered from them, but if you are looking for a Chai tea latte and you haven't tried theirs - I'm not sure what you're waiting for! They make the best in the area. Their "Friends" themed menu items and their breakfast sandwiches are also some of my favorites.
Their mobile app offers a convenient way to order ahead & they have always provided quick service when I've used it.
While public parking (with the occasional need to use your parallel parking skills) can be tricky at times; it's always worth whatever slight inconvenience to order from them.

Read moreIt's a local place where loco people go! 😜🐔🤪🤔 And thinkers! The coffee is secondary. There is no pursuing on makes me happy! A dark cup of coffee and great atmosphere. OH well, move on to the next place. The owner is a bit touchy. So be careful to not mention the lack of no Dark Roast! or the peripherals thinking of... stars! The service attentive. The coffee, mediocre, they had NO dark roast. Who ever heard of a coffee shop with no DARK ROAST!? Give me a break. They did have decent baklava and mediocre breakfast burrito, the owner has no idea what a breakfast burrito should be like! By the way, don't mention the burrito. Wait, was that a burrito?! There was some deep thinker at the end of the counter. Thinking about flowers or poetry, Hemingway or perhaps about Carlos Castañeda; or the Nobel prize work of Jorge Isaacs, María, NOT! Needless to say, I didn't get a coffee ☕! On a positive note, they did have a small collection of vinyls and a record player, nice. They used to have a display of very talented local art and stone work displayed and available for purchase. The owner must be a unconcerned like the thinker in the corner; presumed dead...
