Buddhakhan's — Restaurant in City of Binghamton

We landed here later in the evening as our first choice was unexpectedly closed. We called ahead as they were closing in the next 20 minutes, but the fellow we spoke with was very accommodating.

To be honest, we weren't sure about this place at first. It's about a billion degrees inside (no A/C), smells very strongly of patchouli and other herbs, and doesn't look like the food would be good.

However! The owner and two other staff who were there were so pleasant and friendly! They were totally chill and really exuded Zen. And the food was DELICIOUS.

I ordered a turkey bacon BLT, and the Mr. got a creamy avocado cheeseburger. Both came on what I think were homemade buns (they also have a bakery adjoining them), the greens were crisp and fresh, and the burger and bacon cooked perfectly. Such a sleeper hit!

Note they put a healthy dose of fresh cilantro on your order, so make sure you ask to 86 it if you don't love it.

They also have a great range of vegetarian options, so no worries about finding something you like. We're definitely coming back to try some of their other offerings.

They have books, games, and even a little meditation room with a ceiling of clouds! I'm so glad we took a chance, it was well worth it.

Had a great time getting to talk with the owner and his family and enjoyed the whole atmosphere, the hospitality was fantastic! There are multiple things I like about this place, they have goodies of all kinds they have handmade ice cream, donuts, fudge, smoothies and more! The savory food was amazing! They have a meatless menu and a meat option menu. While you wait you have choices of things to look at and read or play such as board games! There is a hidden treasure which you have to see and experience for yourself...

What can I say, other than excellent. The place we were planning to go for dinner was unexpectedly closed and there wasn't much else open in the area.
