**UPDATE: 4/11/2013
Something is definately different. people im used to seeing behind the counter and behind the grill have changed, packaging for certain items has changed... certain foods have changed. All of my favorites have changed for the worse... this is still good chinese food but it's no longer superior to everyone in the area, now it just rivals everyone... when it once stomped everyone else into the mud with fresh tasties, it now slogs along with the rest of them chest deep in mediocrity. The sweet and sour is watered down now and has less flavor and less color, same with the lemon sauce for lemon chicken. Lo Mein is just a different recipe now, lost its smokey flavor and now tastes like all the other shops in town. General Tso is by far the saddest change; what was once a crispy, spicey bold piece of chicken is now a soggy, less bold duplicate of any other chinese food shop in town.
It is with a Heavy heart that i must lower my food quality rating for this place. WHY FU?? WHY HAVE YOU DONE THIS? I once drove across down, past many chinese food shops just to find your superior food. That will sadly happen no longer. I am going to start cooking my own chinese food from now on... I can only hope to one day reach the tastey level of what Fu Star once was.
SAD PANDA :( **UPDATE: 9/15/2012
Lo Mein wasn't up to it's usual magicalness... and general tso was a little lackluster compared to its usual perfection. I hope this was just...
Read moreFu Star? Are you sure they didn't mean two Star? Even that would be too much credit. I called in 4 items, and was told it would take 15 min. 45 min later I called them, to be told they hadn't even cooked it yet. Fast forward over another hour, and I was told the driver had been on his way for a long time. Now mind you I was literally half a mile away from this place, I could have walked the entire city limits in the time it took this guy to drive 3 blocks. After almost 2 hours, our food arrives. Okay, small tip, minor annoyance, at least I have some good food, right? Wrong. The meal was very small, very dry, stone cold, and resembled cardboard. Of the 4 of us eating, only two of us finished our meal, largely due to the hunger built up over 2 hours of waiting for food. The portions were laughably small. One of my beef terriaki sticks was only as wide as one of my fingers. The only thing normal about the meal was the fortune cookies, which were also not without flaws. Mine wasn't even a sentence; it read: "Stepping away from the power position for one day." I can't believe they still charged us full price for that. Now I know why the name Fu star is so vague; I can think of plenty of ways to finish the title, starting with an extra 2 letters. Amazing that half of this town is abandoned and THIS is the place still...
Read moreIt is June 1, 2020 and we are several months into the Covid-19 Pandemic. There are now some businesses opening up and so my girlfriend and I decided to have some Chinese for dinner.
Fu Star has been our go-to place for the last 4 years. We do love their food. Until tonight! We had to drive back due to uncooked Beef and they recooked it not once but twice. Here is the problem that is now haunting me!
There were four (4) cooks handling food and NOT ONE WAS WEARING A MASK!
I will say that again that NOT ONE OF THE COOKS PREPARING AND HANDLING FOOD WERE WEARING MASKS! No gloves either!
It is a law for restaurant workers preparing food to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)! I have already notifies the police and am calling the Health Department in the morning. This restaurant/take out place has no regard for Social Responsibility or the potential harm they could inflict on their customer’s even death! Close...
