There's plenty of reasons to visit the city of Canandaigua. You can spend hours enjoying the many wine tasting rooms, breweries and historic parks. But now the city of Canandaigua, welcomes a new family owned bakery called Resilience. The owners Paul and Anne are amazing people. Talking to them you can feel the love, and excitement they have in giving the community the very best they have to offer. Today's visit was there soft opening, and even though the menu was limited. You still have more than enough options to choose from. I'm looking forward to coming back, and trying even more. I strongly suggest, everyone else do so as well. You won't regret it.
Chocolate cruffins (v)- I never heard of this dessert before. But it was actually a tasty twist on the use of crosissant dough.
Almond bear claw- this bad boy is huge, and such a perfect compliment to a cup of coffee. I heated my claw up, and OMG that was a great decision. Loved the almond filling and the pastry was not dry at all
Scones- (cranberry orange) I have tried other scones before and I have come to realize they are extremely dry. This scone on the other hand was perfect. I really enjoyed the chunks of cranberries.
Hand pies (v)- (cherry and apple) I was hesitant to try these, because I always felt anything vegan can't taste good. Boy was I wrong. The crust is the best crust I have ever had. Plus both pies are filled with plenty of fruit. I strongly suggest warming these up, and topping them of with a scoop of ice cream. Then prepare to have your mind blown.
Triple chocolate brownie- truly a chocolate lovers dream. The first bite, you know right away the chocolate used is very good quality. The brownie is moist and very rich. Each bite you close your eyes, and just focus on hearing yourself saying Mmmmmm.
Chocolate chunk sea salt cookie- Delicious... chocolate was good quality and the cookie dough was sooooo good
Lemon cupcakes- it's downright unlawful to have cupcakes taste this good. The texture, the flavor and the frosting were...
Read moreAfter stopping at Wildflower boutique next door, I stopped into Resilience bakery! I am gluten free and have Crohn’s disease so food is always a hit or miss. However, im happy to report that Resilience Bakery is a huge hit. I got the gluten free peanut butter cookie and the gluten free chocolate chip cookie and both were so so good. I will admit, I was more of a fan of the peanut butter than I was the chocolate (just based on consistency) but both were very highly rated on my scale. The kitchen is not dedicated gluten free and some of the gluten free foods are in the same case as gluten containing foods, but they’re kept on the top shelf and the owner is careful to put clean gloves on to handle the gluten free foods. I didn’t have any issues or flares with my Crohn’s after eating the cookies, but I am able to have minimal cross contamination. All in all, this was a great place to snag a snack from! You should definitely head over to wildflowers as well if you’re a jellycat fanatic like myself! They have...
Read moreAfter enjoying a fantastic concert at CMAC, we decided to explore the local shops and stumbled upon Resilience Bakery. Wanting to treat ourselves for a party later in the day, we opted to pick up some delicious desserts instead of making our own, and we are so glad we did!

I can't recommend Resilience Bakery enough. If you're in the area, definitely stop by for some sweet...
